Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic

This blows. I brought out KotOR1 the other day and started up a Dark Side campaign. Everything was going smoothly until I went to Korriban.
It keeps freezing up on mine when I'm about to go to Naga Sadow's tomb and kill the Sith Academy's master. :(
 
The framerate is arse and it really stutters bad during fights. It's like a slideslow.
 
You know... I never had that problem... my KOTOR II froze up at one point (or froze enough to become unplayable) but in general... everything was cool...

I'd rather not return to Revan's storyline... I don't think it really goes anywhere after the endings I've seen... I think the main character should be someone new for a 30-50 hr rpg game...

Also, I feel bad for people who are such action/free roaming junkies they can't enjoy a great game like KOTOR... I realize it's not for everyone, but it's sad when closed minds are the barrier...
 
I dont think a third will be made because alot of people got pissed cause of the second one for many reasons, including me

THE first one was soooooo much better (besides the graphics)

True, but it wouldn't hurt for the next KotOR to be a little more expansive with its worlds. Everything in the first two games does feel a bit claustraphobic given that they're competing with the rise of free-roaming enviornments.
 
somthing that i really really hated was, i really loved korribian in kotor 1, infact, it was my favorite planet, but then in kotor 2, it was so empty and desolate, i hated it, that was problly my least favorite part in the game, and it was my least favorite planet in the game. that just broke my heart.
 
It made sense in the context of the games, though. It was a Sith Academy in KotOR 1 until Revan came and tore **** up, so in KotOR 2 it's deserted. I did miss all the *****ebag Sith cadets that wanted to make life hard for you, though.
 
I keep looking for KOTOR2 at my local game stores. I've beaten the first one a few times, and I was wondering if the second was as good as the first?
 
I thought it was almost as good. Not quite as strong a story but still a vastly better one than most other games have. It's definitely worth playing if you liked the first one.
 
Sounds good, I'll check Ebay next pay. Have any of you tried the FLU and class-swapping tricks yet?
 
I just got KOTOR I and am playing it, so I'm bumping this thread:o

After 11 hours, I'm on Tatooine and just helped Juhani. The game runs rather poorly on the 360. Sometimes the only sound you hear is dialogue and music (leaving out sounds like blasters, footsteps, and doors). Also it sometimes "skips", I'll be walking, it stops, and then im 10 ft ahead of where i last was.

Another problem I have with it is more of the gameplay, the fighting. The fighting is designed for blasters in mind more than lightsabers. Lightsabers should pretty much be 1-hit kills in the game, especially on animals like kath hounds. I know it'd make the game really cheap, but that's how it should be. Another thing is the fighting is pretty much turn-based. You attack, miss or hit, your opponent attacks, they miss or hit. Also your character not speaking kind of annoys me. It doesn't annoy me in games like Zelda b/c you don't really respond to characters as you do in this.

I wish they make a KOTOR for the Wii. The controller is great to use a lightsaber and make the fighting far more interesting.

It took me 40 hours to beat the game, good luck.....

I've clocked in 90 hrs to Kingdom Hearts and 40 hrs for the second, so I'm prepared for a long game.

I've already read spoilers on a site, so I know what happens. The only thing that has done is get me more into the game. I don't know how some stuff happens, so there's still an element of suprise.
 
I actually enjoyed the second more than the first :o it was the girls:o I kept toying with their emotions like they were real:o played taht about 200 hours the first about 90 i need to go outside :o
 
A third better be made, w/the ending to KOTOR 2, leaves it open.

They probably will. The first 2 are both critically acclaimed, most likely sold very well due to it being Star Wars. Plus they'll be able to make it longer and better due to the technological improvements. It could very well rival Oblivion.

I have a question about KOTORI, is there any advantage to using 2 short lightsabers over 2 regular lightsabers? This isn't targeted to anyone.
 
Two short lightsabers...not really

One reg. saber and one short saber in the off hand...I think you get less of a penalty (of course, you could just get the two-weapon fighting feat)
 
I have another problem. I can't find the ***** that tells me about Bastila's mother. I've already talked to Bastila about her family and walked out in the docking bay w/ her in my family, but no one approaches me to talk about her mother. The FAQ I'm using doesn't give much other details and all others suck. I can't access the one at GameStop since I have to subscribe.
 
So i'm in EB Games today looking around, and I overhear one of the sales guys talking to a couple who want to buy RPG's for their Xbox. He then suggests KotR, and while explaining the plot TELLS THE PEOPLE THE BIG TWIST TO THE GAME. I muttered to myself "bastard just ruined the game..." and really desperately wanted to ask the moron what possesed him to do such a heinous thing. But I didn't.
 
I FINALLY got a copy of KOTOR 2. It's pretty glitchy but it's really fun. I just got the LS ending and I'm trying for the DS ending tomorrow. *MAYBE SPOILERS* I kind of messed up the story, because I chose the wrong guys to throw in with on Onderon and wound up killing the guys I wanted to have a chat with on Dantooine and yet I still got the LS ending after nearly wiping them all out :P Go figure :D
 
why arent they making another one?... is it because there making mass effect?...maybe they will start AFTER they make mass effect:)

they have alot to fix....
1.make it like mass effect
2.....for god sakes make some awesome lightsaber battles.. not sock'em boppers battles.
