Ubisoft Star Wars: Outlaws

10 to 15 years is a bit much.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
Watch Dogs 2
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Are above average videogames.
No they're not. All three of these titles are riddled with about 15 to 30 hours of unnecessary busy work.

I agree to disagree. Have you played those games? And I'm quite sure, you don't need to complete everything to progress on the story mode of Black Flag and Watch Dogs 2.

An average game to me is something like ACIII/Liberation/Just Cause 4. The other 3 games I've mentioned are a lot better.

I have. One of my main side hussles is footage farming for content creators. I play a lot of crap I would otherwise never touch. It also gives me a good idea on if a game will be DOA or not. None of my people asked for footage of this or Suicide Squad. Im not just talking about stuff that's required for completion. The moment to moment gameplay and mission structures in these games are mediocre as well with Odyssey being the biggest offender.

I do plan on getting it. But, its an Ubisoft game. I never pay full price for an Ubisoft game.

It would be half its original price by next year or 2026.
It pretty much already is, at least almost half price. Amazon has it for $39.99 as a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal. Combined with what I had left from a gift card, I ended up getting this for about $25.

I bought it on sale for Black Friday through Amazon and I'm really enjoying it a lot. I rarely ever buy games at full price, especially since they go on sale mere weeks after being released nowadays. It reminds me of Tomb Raider, just with a Star Wars overlay—which works for me. I'm looking forward to getting deeper into it.

I bought it and was somewhat hyped to dive into it because I liked the two 'recent' Jedi games and I figured at worst I'd probably still finish the story. After only about 4-5 hours I feel ready to dip out though. For me it's not even so much that it's purely bad or anything, but nothing really jumps out to me as being anything special.

For me a game like this needs a compelling story (and characters) to fall back on and I think the Jedi games have that with Cal Kestis trying to restore some juice into the Jedi order, but Outlaws feels really weak in that area. You're the thief with a heart of gold who gets roped into criminal shenanigans that result in your 'mentor' getting shot and you fleeing the planet. Except nothing about this feels well executed or interesting, just by the numbers. The gameplay also feels pretty repetitive sadly and you have "stealth" sections mixed with crawling through vent sections.

It sucks to feel ready to wave the white flag after only 4-5 hours in a game where you could probably get at least 30-40 hours, but it feels like a chore and I'm not really looking forward to booting the game up which is a problem sadly.

Now that I have a chance to really sit down and play this, I gotta say I'm enjoying it so far. Sure, the character animations can be a little sloppy (Kay's hair, mouth movement on characters) and there's glitchy gameplay here and there but nothing that's been detrimental to my enjoyment of the game. It's not on the level of Fallen Order/Survivor but it's a decent Star Wars game, which have been too few and far between in the last couple of console generations.
