Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

He's cool with whatever puts $$$ in his pocket. No matter how crappy it is.

Doesnt matter, he doesnt care that Vader can use force lighting for this game, so that must mean its no big deal.

Lucas is cool with Jar Jar Binks though?

Oh lord, thats a whole nother argument for a whole nother day.

Vader can't use force lightning in the game though. He uses force choke instead.

I'm really looking forward to seeing shots of the apprentice in the sith robes/cloak. I hope the black cloak is still unlockable because there's been no further info on it.

i played through the demo a few times last night... it was... okay.

not bad in any way, just not particularly good. the powers and the physics engine were great, but everything else was pretty... blah.

granted, that's going off of a 10 minute demo, and this is a definite rental for me, for sure. but i just wasn't too terribly impressed.

I think the Euphoria physics were used better in GTA then they were in this game, which I was surprised by because Lucasarts were the one's all excited to be using it. The main characters especially, Niko has an amazing feeling of weight to him that Star Killer doesn't have, he still kind of floats on the ground like most videogame characters do.

Like you I thought the demo was okay. Which is sad because I was looking forward to it. It didn't play as revolutionary and fun as I thought it would.

I agree with whoever was complaining about the lightsaber combat. It really feels like a light baton or something, I don't get why no videogame has made the lightsaber as powerful as it should be. I get that it would make it a little easy, but that's the point, a Jedi shouldn't be taken down by stormtroopers. Oddly enough, if you slash the R2 unit at the beginning of the demo, it slices in half like it should.

JK2: Jedi Outcast had a cheat to enable 'realistic' saber combat if I remember rightly, made the game too easy but I'll be damned if lobbing off Stormtroopers heads with a single swing wasn't a hell of a lot of fun.

Yeah, I think I remember that... That was awesome. :woot:

sv_dismemberment 1 or g_saberrealisticcombat 1

It WAS in there, you just HAD to turn it on. I wonder if there's anything like that in the Force Unleashed though, lets hope so. It'll improve the saber-combat with 300%!

I think someone else stated that you cant bring in dismemberment without getting an M rating from the ESRB. I also think thats the reason that cheat wasnt in Jedi Academy.

Actually, that cheat WAS in Jedi Knight / Academy. Why didnt A New Hope get a Mature rating when it cleary showed Obi-Wan dismembering an alien in the Mos. Cantina? With the new ratings systems that could've become the first Mature rated Star Wars flick.

Hell, even Revenge of the Sith showcased some brutal stuff. The impalement of the Clone Troopers in the chest by Yoda. The Jedi Kid who got shot over and over again? The beheadings of the Clone Troopers on Kashyyk? The slaughtering of the Separatists? Anakin's-peanut-butter-crispy-time?

Thank god for PC Mods

(4-armed Grevious Mod FTW!)

Dude, what the hell are you talking about???? The ESRB and MPAA are two COMPLETELY different entities. One deals with video games the other with movies, two TOTALLY different things. They aren't rated the same, at all.

Actually, that cheat WAS in Jedi Knight / Academy.

It never worked for me.

It wasn't in JA, I remember vividly them NOT putting it in.

It was in Jedi Knight.
The cheat enlarged the chance of you slashing one's arm or leg off with a Lightsaber.

@ProjectPat
Your right. Two different things, forgot about that.
Gears of War aint Mature here? It was 16+. They could get away with it. Or LucasArts should allow someone to post a "hack" to turn dismemberment on ( yeah right ... )

Ah, so it wasnt like the gsaberrealisticcombat from the other Jedi Knight games. I dont know how many times i inputed that code only to ***** that my saber didnt cut that stormtrooper in half.

Yea, i MUCH rather have the saber act the way it should, but this system does enable some pretty cool combos, so i guess i can go along with it.
