Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe

I'm still a little uneasy about it. It almost looks like it's not the SG1/SGA universe but in a cool good way.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think it's:

1) The new "polished" CGI
2) The Camera: The way it's filmed, it's got that handheld/documentary in some of the scenes, reminds me of BSG...
3) The characther don't seem to be the heroic/selfless kind of people we are used to.
4) More arguements and in team conflict in this show. Something we not used to, we used to SG-1 or Atlantis Expedition having agruements with the IOA, Robert Kinsey, etc but not much if ever in team conflict. Which this show seems to have alot. To me it's like how Star Trek DS9 had most of the characthers at each others necks while the rest of the Trek shows didn't (even Bones' and Spock's agruements wasn't even close lol).

I loved the trailer, seeing lots of good things, I still get a sense of good old stargate but on a much grander scale.

Just finished watching the new version of Children of the Gods. I enjoyed it, thought the changes were beneficial and some of the new CGI looked great. Nice to have some of the dodgy lines taken out and some fixed to tie in with continuity.

The one thing I wasnt sure on though was Christopher Judge re-doing all his lines, it didnt sound right at times.

I think thats kind of the point. These characters are really supposed to be the wrong people in the wrong place, if I remember correctly. Not professionals.

Yeah I think your right, I think half way thru the trailer they say something like: "Theses are the wrong people!"

Yeah, that idea of the wrong people getting stuck on the ship rather than the highly skilled airmen and Marines we saw in earlier Stargate episodes sounds interesting. Hopefully we'll get fewer deus ex machinas in SGU. SG-1 and SGA came to rely on them way too much.

Yeah, which can be only a good thing as much as I like the idea of super smart Carter or McKay, the Deus ex machinas did start wearing alittle thin in some eps and later seasons of both SG-1/SGA, so be good to see how the other guys save the day at the 11th Hour

Well Wikipedia says: "...Rush is the only confirmed main character[12] who was not included in the initial casting character breakdowns.[17]"

It's Lou Diamond Phillips who is unclear: "...The cast status of Lou Diamond Phillips as a permanent or recurring SGU actor is unclear. Philips was named in a press release along with the confirmed main cast in February 2009.[21] He played the title role in a new stage musical in May 2009[30] and was a contestant in I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! in June 2009,[31] both shows taking place during the shooting period of SGU.[3]"

Eh, he just seems like the stereotypical geek to me. He's our POV character, though, so I'm sure we'll see lots of him.

Man, Robert Carlyle's getting me excited for this. His character seems really interesting.

Well theres Stargate Worlds, the MMO which is being made. Unless another one has been announced at SDCC that I havent heard about yet.
