As TPTB have said the aliens in this show will be really alien, as in not humoid I'm guessing no

Maybe the SGU team will
make the non-humoid aliens they find there pets ;) lol...but seriously be good to see more non-humoid aliens and less human english speaking ones :)

Yeah it's one of the first things they decided on
They decided Aliens would be really alien and none of them would be English speaking

Making first contact all that more interesting IMO.

So is it confirmed that they will be lost and unable to get back to Earth?

yes for awhile till they use the ancient device Daniel Jackson and Vala stumbled upon that transports themselves home and use another person as a vessel.

Now I like the sound of that, it makes the series more interesting now :)

Yup in Star Trek Voyager stylely :)

Its making me wonder then what the guest appearances from RDA etc are gonna be like then throughout the season. Will take away from the feeling of isolation if we cut back to Earth every now and again

I'm guessing RDA will be making appearances via the ancient body swapping communication device but I remember reading somewhere that, that device gets sabotaged at some point in the season, truly cutting them off

Yeah I guess so but at the same time they gotta give the team alittle hope, without that they become like the crew of BSG (who are cool tho)...

Well as long as they get back to more exploration in this series I should be happy, ive missed that from the end seasons of SG1 and even though SGA still did, it didnt really feel the same.

What I love about the trailer is that it shows the different kinds of places they'll be visiting, in the trailer I saw a desert, an ice planet, a jungle, it makes a change from all the forests.

Yes countless forests, with alittle village near the Stargate...

Well, I'd also like to think that the SGC wouldn't sit idly by while they've got people lost out in space. So cutting back to Earth allows us to see that attempts to find the SGU people are ongoing but not getting anywhere, adding to the feeling of isolation and desperation of the SGU people..

The problem with cutting back to the SGC is gonna be when we dont see members of SG1 or other cast that we really should do. Its not exactly really annoying but frustrating when that kind of thing happens.

That is a bit annoying, but I can accept it as a natural consequence of limited budgets and conflicting schedules.

Besides, everyone knows Walter's all you really need to keep the SGC running smoothly. ;)

I dont know how they ever managed on those rare days off he took when someone else was brought in. Like that guy who fancied Carter.

Lol too true :woot:.

You notice on his "days off" the SGC always got invaded or took over by an alien device, etc :p lol

Maybe that'll be the new MALP

Yup:

“Kino”: "a piece of technology on board the Destiny. It is a sleek, softball-sized orb that floats throughout the ship, capturing a first-person perspective on crew conversations. (According to producer Joseph Mallozzi’s blog, the kino will also serve as the Destiny’s version of a M.A.L.P., being sent through the Stargate to check out a destination planet by remote.)"

Awesome, ball on a string! :D

Seriously, though, that's kind of cool. A piece of alien tech that could actually be useful without being a huge deus ex machina. Go figure.
