After this weeks episode, I will not shed a single tear if SGU gets cancelled.

Ooh, now I'm intrigued. I haven't watched it yet.

Let's just say that you'd be better off rewatching The Changeling from season 6 of SG1.

huh...I actually thought Pathogen was a great episode...and much closer to what SG used to be.

Pathogen was ok compared to this weeks' Cloverdale.

After finally getting through the last season of Farscape and Peacekeeper Wars a couple of months back, I'm fine with it being over.

Good for you. It's my favorite sci fi show of all time, so I'd take anything else I can get from it. The comics have been good, though.

I loved the first two seasons.

Three was good, but had a weirdness that didn't always click with me. I did like how they did something completely unique with a rather cliched sci-fi premise.

Four was just way too dark, and would never let up. PW just went further down the rabbit hole, so I didn't enjoy them as much as I expected to. I can see why the ratings fell of and it was canceled. But at least they got to wrap the story up.

me neither,,, I wish craptastic episodes like this never happen!!!!!! I wish they'd just say to themselves, we have no idea what to do for this episode, lets just eliminate it, and fold the budget into a more worthy episode... and reduce the total number of episodes deliverd: Quality > Quantity

Let's count the Michael Bay-isms from that episode shall we:

- Give lots of screen time to your male lead that many viewers dislike playing a character that even fewer viewers like.

- CGI fight scenes...also keep em fast and frenzied so as not to focus on the quality of the CGI.

- Gratuitous use of tight top and miniskirt wardrobe on female character(s). Remember the tighter the top and smaller the miniskirt the better.

- Love interest is necessary; as is a love triangle of sorts.

- Militaristic "stick to your guns" heroics MUST play an important role to garner the coveted Michael Bay seal of approval.

- then add lots of explosions to distract from the story...ummm....ok, in a pinch pyrotechnics (ie flamethrowers) will work too!

:yay:

I enjoy the show but the last episode was really bad. I like all the episodes with Telford and ones that focus on the mysteries of Destiny, the aliens, and the dire situation.

I really hate episodes a focus on Wray and those stupid stones.

are we talking about pathogen, or about Cloverdale... Pathogen was good, Cloverdale was classic stargate tripe

I wish I could like the show but this series has departed way to far from what made Stargate great. If I was an exec at Syfy and I was looking at these numbers I would cancel the show and tell them to come up with a new series that has the action/adventure feeling of the first two SG series.

You mean like they did with Caprica? :)

I almost feel sorry for SyFy that they're spending so much money on stuff that doesn't work. As a fan of lots of shows that were cancelled to soon, I can't bring myself to like SGU because unlike Firefly or Pushing Daisies that were actually revolutionary in their own ways... SGU and Caprica had all the potential in the world and they squandered it. And no, it's not because the fanbase didn't want something different. I believe the fanbases for Stargate and BSG are smarter than the average fanbase and they can smell ********. And SGU and Caprica are full of it.

If you're talking about 'Cloverdale' then I wouldn't say it was really bad
The stuff in Scott's dream world was really bad but the stuff on the planet I found really good

Yes, I was talking about Cloverdale. And I was mostly referring to the dream world as being the bad parts. I also didn't care for Greer's showboating with the flamethrower and the horrid CGI. I was really hoping Scott would lose part of his arm. It would have added another layer of drama (and lots of storytelling possibilities), and show how bad these people really have it out there. We'll see if Chloe's blood in him will do anything.

I really hope Chloe's metamorphosis is going to have a purpose and leave a lasting mark on the crew. They've been building it up for a few episodes now and it would suck for them to just cure her, defeat the bad aliens, and have it be forgotten in the next episode.

If they want to save the show...my ideas would be to bring it a little closer to the franchise past shows.

1) More adventure off the ship
2) More interaction with other alien races
3) A team dedicated to exploring planets, finding resources and ways home
4) Full control of Destiny and a reason for being there...not 12 episodes later. but soon.

Cloverdale was not just bad... it was horrible. They are at the edge of the universe! On a ship millions of years old! And I gotta spend half the episode... in f***ing Cloverdale. Half the time I don't care for these a$$holes AS THEY ARE. Now I gotta deal with the civilian, MORE annoying versions of them. Jesus...

This reminds me of Star Trek burning out after three success series

TNG-7 seasons
DS9-7 seasons
Voyager-7 seasons

Enterprise- 4 seasons

Five seasons has been a magic number for Stargate but I feel SG:U won't reach it like Enterprise never reaching seven season.
