Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe

What the hell are you people talking about? I just finished watching Cloverdale, and it wasn't bad at all. The stuff on the planet was pretty fast paced and rather good.

And the dream wasn't bad either. It was an exploration of Scott's mind, feelings, insecurities, and fears. This felt a lot like a classic Atlantis or SG-1 episode. More than pretty much any others of the series.

except that those earth bound 'fantasy' episodes were not just good, they were amazing... I point to the one about Teal'c as the firefighter. One of the best episodes of SG1 ever... Cloverdale didn't come anywhere near this episode.

I hate chloe, and I hate scott just a little less. All the other characters are very solid though. It feels a little like Lost, where you just know the story is going to focus on the white anglo-saxon ideals... rather than the more interesting characters.... like the secondary asian scientist, dr. park, or Dr. Brody, or Lt. James

I don't remember really being into the Teal'c episode. It was ok, though.

I don't really get the Scott and Chloe hate. Well, at least not now that they've been together for a while. I am building up some Rush hate. But in the good way they actually intend. ;)

I am liking how they aren't ignoring Chloe's condition. Every episode they're ramping it up a little more. Making her a little less human.

These people, the Lucian Alliance people are so much more interesting than Scott and Chloe. There is nothing special about them. Well Chloe is interesting with her alien affliction but besides that she serves so point on the ship.

I was wondering, was Tamara far enough along to deliver a dead fetus? I'm still confused as to how her baby could be physically with the other aliens from that strange planet with the other crew members. Yet still have a body to show for on the ship.

I always thought that Chloe got over her father pretty quickly. I would have gone into that development a bit more to help us see why she is who she is.

She feels alone, she's lost and needs comfort from an alpha male. Yet none of this is really explained or even shown in subtle hints.

They could really develop Chloe to be someone who is emotionally broken - that way we could find it a lot easier to get behind her.

Instead, she just comes off as a bit of a tease (knowingly) throwing Eli a carrot and then grabbing it back as soon as his grubby hands get close enough to taste it.

I didnt like Chole for most of the first season cause she had no real purpose besides being the lt's girlfriend. Near the end of the first season they started to develop a story line for her so I'm ok with her now.

I remember in the beginning she (or maybe the IOC) wanted to be a diplomat to any aliens they encountered since her father was the senator.

I wish they'd go back to that, since she'd then have a real purpose. And since she's apparently part alien, actually sort of makes even more sense now.

I hope they have the balls to carry the Chloe is becoming alien thing the distance... like all the way (with no magical fixes, or the age old 'she looks human on the outside, but on the inside... tripe). Like the poor guy in district 9, no hope of being her old self physically or mentally

That would be pretty cool, though the show would lose a bit of the perve factor if she suddenly ended up looking like a prawn lol

I would love to see that but I doubt it will happen. It seems to me that American TV generally takes the safe route or the "it'll work out in the end" approach.

She might end up sort of how she looked in Scott's dream. Some type of mixed/possibly deformed hybrid.

I was about to say this, that way they'll have the best of both worlds, an alien on the team and keep the eye candy......though I personally prefer TJ :woot:.

I liked Cloverdale...my problem is with the rest of the series and the complete lack of adventure...they barely walk beyond the Stargate when they go to another planet. sigh

^This. SGU is great stuff with a few missteps. Enterprise was a train wreck with sparse moments of entertainment. There is absolutely no comparison.

Also this. I did think making Chloe alien was more than brilliant, because it does allow them to do what they're going to do (focus on scott and chloe like anyone cares) and still be moderately interesting.

Greer is my favorite, and I hope they expand him properly. By the way, did they reveal who was in his photograph and I just missed it the other week? Second fave is Rush, cuz he's that magnificent SOB that most shows need.

What this show needs most, is to give the Lucian Alliance character's some shine, and run the subplot that Voyager should have.

I was wondering, was Tamara far enough along to deliver a dead fetus? I'm still confused as to how her baby could be physically with the other aliens from that strange planet with the other crew members. Yet still have a body to show for on the ship.

"Alien Magic." The same way TJ herself was on the distant planet physically while her body was on the ship. The same way the same nebula was shown to her while on the planet was right in front of them when they came out of FTL after she had come to on the ship. Alien Magic.

no see that's exactly what I don't want. Make her fully alien... make it irreversible, and gritty.

The thing I find hardest with SGU is how difficult it is to get behind any of the characters.

I watch them with curiosity, but without investment in them.

i agree fully... I'm watching carefully, but I'm not really interested in any of the characters we've met

GODDAMMIT SYFY!!! Move Stargate back to Fridays. I keep forgetting it's on Tuesday. :argh:

I used to do this. Somehow I got invested in Greer and Rush. Not sure how. I guess I'm just easy like that.

Those are the two I'm most invested with along with TJ aswell.

I liked yesterdays episode because they didn't try and be dark for all of it. SGU needs a fun episode every once in awhile.

^ That's the storyline I'm eagerly anticipating. The introduction of [quite possibly] "good" aliens. REAL aliens that they end up communicating with. Not humans from another planet.

Why when they will just end up dying eventually ? Thor & the Asgard you are missed
