The Ori annoys me. Like that one episode where Sg1 goes to that planet where that chick was worshiped as a god when she still had that Goauld or however u spell that in her & the entire village even Mitchell gets sick & almost die & who did that The Ori. The show writers are really screwing them up. I am very annoyed at them. If the Ori wants to show how powerful they truly are then surely the can do that WITHOUT threatning to kill an entire city. I just think The Ori can do things DIFFERENT & BETTER ways instead of forcing people to believe they are gods (sighs) I look forward to the Episode that kills the Ori. The Ori = copy cat of SG1 previous enemy & that is another thing that is making them to me so annoying. The writers had a GOOD CHANCE with the Ori to make them DIFFERENT. But no its another believe us / follow us or die thing. The show writers are really running out of ideas. It would have been great if Baal' was the main villian this Season. He obviously has had alot of time to think of a way to screw with SGC hundreds of times.

You want something different, but you're advocating Baal as the main villain for this season? How would yet another Goa'uld who manages to rise to the rank of most powerful System Lord be any different from Apophis and Anubis?

I don't see the Ori as a sign that the writers are out of ideas, I see them as a sign that the writers understand the show they're creating. SG-1 has always been about oppression in its myriad forms. If I went back through the previous seasons' episodes, I'd be willing to bet that a good 60 to 80% of them listed oppression among their themes. The Ori are just oppression on a whole new level well beyond the Goa'uld. The only problem I see with the Ori is that they're too bloody powerful and it looks pretty hopeless at this point that the SGC will figure out any way to effectively combat them. But that's a blessing in disguise, since that just means that they can develop ways to beat the Ori over many, many new episodes. ;)

I agree with Corpulent, I dont think the writers are out of ideas at all. I see the Ori as more of an extension of the whole Ancient Saga and its good to see a bad guy that they cant just kill by the conventional means they usually did when trying to prove to some village that they are not gods (barring Anubis of course).

Just saw Ex Deus Machina.
The guy that plays Baal has a really cool voice! I know he's from South Africa but he sounded almost australian. Not to mention he looks sharp in that business suit. Yup, that's one fine man.
I liked the whole public figure angle. It would be so ironic, to have a Goa'uld on the planet, prancing around in plain sight... and not be able to do anything about it. :) It was a decent episode, though I did get bored a few times.
Atlantis
Generic episode, generic theme, lowsy acting. What was the title, I forgot alraedy! It was probably something oh yeah
GENERIC
:) Got bored very quick but managed to stick it out hoping that maybe at least Mckay could get a few chuckles out of me but even he failed me. Yeah, I know you're an obsesive hypochondriac that also happens to be a chicken. Give me something new here. Kudos to Sheppard for this one little literary jewel that made me laugh
"Being a teenager, it figures. Pimples, rebellion and life sucking."
I'm sure my parents would agree. :)

yeah, I've found that the Atlantis fillers are pretty crap story wise,

Baal's got excellent taste in suits.

As for Atlantis, I liked the episode. It reminded me of old-school SG-1. Of course, the preview basically gives away all of the next episode. The "bite" that Ellia gave Shep transmitted the retrovirus (which does the exact OPPOSITE of what it was supposed to, which kinda makes me wonder what they're paying Beckett for) to him, so of course the team is gonna hold him at bay with the melodramatic suggestion that they might have to kill him. Meanwhile, Beckett fixes the retrovirus up over the course of a few hours after not making any headway with it for who knows how long and they manage to inject it into the Shepster so that everything's back to the status quo for next episode. Sci Fi Channel's really gotta stop making such crappy, spoiler-riddled previews. :o

Edit: So I'm watching "Children of the Gods" again on the Sci Fi Channel's weekly Stargate Monday marathon thing and I just noticed something: Jack O'Neill's introduction in the Stargate movie is eerily similar to Cameron Mitchell's recent intro in "Avalon I." Two airmen drive up to Jack's house to reactivate him and their conversation serves as the narration for the scene. One of them knows nothing about Jack, so the other explains that he was highly decorated and one of the best, right up until his son accidentally killed himself. That reminded me a lot of Walter and that nameless other airman in "Avalon I," when they're watching Cam step up to the gate. They narrate the scene with Mitchell's exploits in "Lost City." I'm wondering now if the writers did that on purpose as a symbolic thing, since Mitchell's the new leader. Kinda cool if it was intended. Still cool if it wasn't, although it'd be a remarkable coincidence.

Don't you feel that since Avalon, Mitchell has been sorta... useless? He just hangs around Teal'c most of the times, sometimes makes a funny, sometimes pulls out a gun.
Sure, he saved the day this time, but honestly, Carter could've just as well come up with that solution. In fact, she should have, since she knows better then anyone what those ships can do.
And he's still an O'Neill clone! Right down to the hand gestures. That time when he threw up his hands and said : "It's the right thing to do". We're up to the 7th episode. Get this man some character developement already!

I say get Thor back into the Mix & have him ask for Jack's help so that'd give them a reason to get Jack back for an Episode or 2

Yeah, Mitchell has been totally useless so far. Everything he's done could've easily been attributed to someone else in a way that makes more sense, except maybe for tossing the Ancient communicator into the kawoosh.

In "Ex Deus Machina" it was even worse because on top of Mitchell's being useless, it looked like Landry just misallocated his people. You've got an incredibly delicate and volatile situation where 2 members of SG-1 have to try and talk some sense into Gerak while the other 2 run a reconnaissance mission in the field with NID agents. Wouldn't it make more sense to have Teal'c, who knows Jaffa, and Daniel, who's brokered like every treaty the SGC is a part of so far, do the talking with Gerak thing while the 2 military personnel with training to deal with recon most effectively do the recon mission? That would've been a perfect way for Mitchell to do some more talking and actually use his useful skills, like tactics and stuff. But no, instead they just paired him up with Teal'c again so we could see more of their forced, slightly antagonistic friendship.

Anyway, "Babylon" looks promisingly Mitchell-centric, so we'll see. The showrunners have pretty much already dropped the ball on Mitchell, though. I get that they wanted to ease him in so he wouldn't overshadow the other 3 SG-1 members or upset the oh-so-delicate flowers that are Jack/RDA fans, but come on. "Avalon I" was good for our first look at Mitchell, but a full 6 episodes after that with just the barest hints of character development? And sacrificed for the sake of VALA, a guest star, no less? Weak sauce, writers. Weak sauce.

What a shock that you would say that

Sorry to hear you don't want Jack back for an episode or 2 as I think that is one of the few VERY ways to bring his character into the mix for morethen just 30 seconds at the end of an episode or a short Telephone call.

I never said I wouldnt like to see O'Neill back, I said that it was a shock that you said that. Basically im sick of you going on about O'Neill and Thor

diddo, he retired from the show, everybody loves his character, he was the primary. But times change, and there are things that have to be accepted.

he'll return sooner or later, that's a given, so just wait until the time comes, because it will.

Ummm I have NOT mentioned either of them in a LONG TIME since now. You need to MOVE ON. I am quite frankly getting SICK & TIRED of you *****ing about me liking part of a show. If you dont like it then put me on your ignore list & move on if you can'd do that then JUST LEARN TO IGNORE CERTAIN THINGS I SAY other then that there is an IGNORE FEATURE for a REASON. You dont HAVE to see whenever I mention Jack / Thor & I have NOT for a LONG TIME since now. So if you don't like it that is what the IGNORE USER FEATURE IS FOR. If your THAT sick of it then USE THE IGNORE USER FEATURE if you can't even do that then just SHUT UP & IGNORE ME when I mention Jack & Thor. You are only hurting yourself if you are THAT annoyed of it when you can easily end it.

I need to move on??? Your the one bringing it up again.
You've made it clear that you like O'Neill and Thor but you dont have to bring it up every few pages

If you dont like it then SIMPLY PUT ME ON YOUR IGNORE LIST end of discussion if you cant do that then SHUT THE **** UP. You can easily have it so you dont see my messages but since you are NOT bothering to do anything about it then I guess your not THAT annoyed. So please if you cant bother to put me on your ignore list JUST SHUT THE **** UP when I mention stuff your annoyed of. Since you can easily stop that.

I am NOT going to stop posting when needed about part of the show I like just because ONE person is annoyed of it. So if your THAT annoyed of it then go ahead & USE THE IGNORE FEATURE. I will NOT STOP FOR YOU.

enough already!!!! MvTrlrMsc wants oneill back, he hopes a return of thor will do so. Ok, there, it's been recognized. Now move one, let's talk about something relevant to the show right now.

MvTrlrMsc: we all know how you feel. There are only about 5 posters who regualarly respond in this thread (and you are one of them). So you don't need to repeat yourself that often. We heard you. So stop with the melodrama.

Happen: don't tease him

Does anyone know what's on the menu for the next Sci Fi Friday (a week friday)? Anybody been to the spoilers recently at gateworld?

No I don't like you I am just VERY ANNOYED. The way I see it if you can NOT put me on ignore if your are THAT annoyed then you have NO RIGHT to whine & ***** the way are you so the next time I mention the 2 things from Stargate just SHUT THE **** UP & PUT ME ON IGNORE. If you can't do that then you have NO RIGHT TO WHINE & ***** when there is a way to NOT see what I type. That is what it is there for.

Ah well, I dont use the ignore feature so it looks like you will just have to realise that you tend to repeat yourself a lot and some of your posts come off quite childish, look above for example

go pms somewhere else. I like jack, and i want him back too, just wait and be patient... move on and discuss something else. Stop trying to get the last word, because I really don't care. We've all known that Jack wasn't going to be around this season. It's just something to deal with. We can only discuss the return of Jack so many times.

You're a good poster(alliteration aside), and there is no need to put you on ignore. But you do have to realize that we, and you have discussed this already... discussed it to death

Do you know what the next episode is about? If so, speak up, and lets get away from this bull****, change the subject, and talk about something else

Are there any clues out there as to what the Ori fleets will look like? Any word as to when the crusade will begin?

Here is something to discuss. Now we all know that the Ori and the Ancients are ascended. We also know that the Ancients have the Star Trek Prime Directive of non intervention with those less advanced civilization. Will the ancients ever interdict on our behalf, to garentee our free will? We know that there are ancients who don't follow the rules (Oma and the other guy), aswell as Ancients who have been mandated/sentenced to the unending protection of a given planet (in SGA). So as the Ori threat grows, do you think that the ancients will ever get involved, on some level or another?

Heres a spoiler for the last 2 episodes of season 9:

Vala has been confirmed to be in the episode before last so im betting she will be in both. I think this is great news as I loved her character and id hate for her to just be left out there with any explanation of what happened to her

EDIT:

Aswell as Ancients who have been mandated/sentenced to the unending protection of a given planet (in SGA)

Spoiler regarding a returning character:

The ancient who fell in love with Carter, who was also sentenced to watching over a planet for all time will be returning to help but will be in the body of a small boy
