State of Decay

I'll be honest, I'm still at the church hahaha :D

hah, i stayed there for quite a long while, but then alan killed pastor william and then i sent alan away instead of killing him when he got sick. I was tired of not havin enough space for stuff. also i like the city of marshall better cuz its mostly flat without a ton of foliage and its got plenty of room to run. i felt kinda closed in in the city where the church is. could just be me though

Maybe i'm just spoiled by Last of Us still...but I just can't seem to get into State of Decay...

Well they are two totally different styles of game.
that right they are. We should appreciate them for what they are. the last of us just set the bar that in others should look at in the other next gen consoles to fallow. this one title was made by a new studio and they are still trying to find them selves we should just be happy the game plays fun. In the sequel hopefully they might try to be a little more ambitious but you can't expect too much of a new studio that just started and doesn't have the resource of what naughty dog has and they weren't really trying do the same thing story wise ether. each game also need it's own identity too other wise people will find reason to dump on it cause oh it went copy another. this game is fine as it is for what it is already doing.

MMO Burnout: State of Decay

With an all-star dev team steering the ship, Undead Labs' State of Decay is topping sales charts and impressing fans, but it's certainly not done yet.

The single-player zombie survival game for the Xbox 360 was created by several ArenaNet alumni (including ANet co-founder Jeff Strain) and aims to one day release an MMO version titled Class4. But in the meantime, it's breaking XBL sales records and showing us all how a decaying game premise like zombie survival can gain new life.

I grabbed the game at launch to give me an idea of what to eventually expect from Class4, but I was quite surprised at what I found. A console game with a living world? A single-player action RPG with purpose and incentive? That's just what you get when you interrupt traditional console game development with a few designers from this crazy new genre known as MMORPG. I'm contemplating buying this, is it worth my hard earned $20?

Is the length pretty good, I've seen the map and it looks pretty large but not sure how much of it is playable.

I'd like to hear some of you guys' opinions, thank you.

Yea, theres a lot of game for 20 bux. I think thats a pretty solid price. I think the game has come the closest out of all the other zombie games to simulate living in a zombie overrun world.

Give the game a trial download, see how ya like it. The trial version should give you enough game to determine rather or not you'll like it.

Yeah it's more than worth the 20. And the map is plenty large. Especially considering you won't want to go too far from your base too often. Any bigger and the missions would just take too long. I say get it

Thanks guys.

I've played a little of the demo and liked it, just wanted to get others' opinions first. Liked it more than Dead Island.

November 29th is when this is due to come out be ready.

Oh geez, I haven't played State of Decay for months. I dread to think what kind of shape my survivors are in these days.

So, it's $10 on steam...almost bought it but with the lack of co-op I just can't do it. This kind of game is only fun if i'm playing with others. At least for me.

I've watched some let's plays on youtube of this and it doesn't really seem to be my kind of game.

So i've bought this game during Steam holiday sales....and needless to say i'm pretty much addcited to this game now haha

A few minor gripes here and there but overall pretty solid game!

Imagine what these guys could've done with bigger budget

I'm totally addicted too. lol. Have you guys gotten the DLC? Thats what really revived my interest in the game

I dunno if i'll get the DLC though. It sounds like just SoD but with revved up difficulties, rather than a real expansion ( new areas etc)

I'm not looking forward to tangling with an army of nearly invincible zombies.

The zombies are the same difficulty. Just more of them. Which does make it quite a bit harder as you start movin up the levels

Thats cool. I always thought the hordes in the orig game were too small.

I dunno if it's only happened in my game, but i've noticed that once you start the last few missions with the army, the zombies start multiplying like crazy....my base at Snyder was in danger of being overrun like every other five minutes.

Ah.. i see...

I heard that there's no story, so is it just 'see how long you'll last' kind of thing?

Even at their own site, dead labs, they're kinda vague about what this DLC really is about

Right. Theres no story. So you're pretty much just surving from level to level. And the difficulty ramps up. All the while you are doing challenges to unlock hero characters. But you can only unlock hero characters on certain levels. So that definitely gives you a reason to progress.

I see....

And how do you progress from level to level actually? and these hero characters....are they also characters from SoD NPC's?

Yes, they are characters from the story and other who i dont recognize from the story. You progress by finding an RV and then fixing it up. Then you choose like 6 people to get on it with you and you head to the next level and leave the rest of your group behind. Its pretty hard making that choice sometimes.
