'Kay, so I've gotten weirdly addicted to these 'State Your Opinion' threads. Thought I'd try making one! :)

Let's begin!

South Park

I have never watched a complete episode. So far I have no desire to watch one. But from the ratings and press it gets...my not watching doesn't seem to effect it.

I really, really don't like South Park. I find it to be preachy and wildly obnoxious.

I like how South Park lampoons current events and people and does not hold back...except with the prophet Muhammad. It's over the top funny.

I'm far from a regular watcher, but whenever I have caught an episode every now and then, I have found it pretty funny. More so than Family Guy, at least.

South Park used to be good with its subtle social commentary, but as the years went on the jokes began wearing thin. I haven't watched a new episode in a few years.

Hate it. It uses shock value in order to pull in ratings. I'm not interested in controversy

Hmp. Okay, a mixed response to South Park then. Let's try something a little different...

Breaking Bad, what can I say?

Well I love the show, love it, love it, love it. It's fantastically constructed and from the writing, directing, cast to the visual look (which I'd go far and say it's the best-looking show on air) with Craston creating a remarkable, just outstanding character out of Walt. Acting at its finest.

I couldn't agree more, man! Pretty much everything about this show is perfect (and I never call ANYTHING perfect)

Also, cool avvie... Mad Men's gonna be making an appearance here soon...

Agree, this is a perfect show definitely, trying to find anything weak from the show is impossible, it's simply non-existence. Gilligan and the writers just hit a home-run ever since its inception, and the good thing is, it keeps getting better.

Yeah, can't wait.

I'm a pretty big South Park fan. The show is well past its golden age, but it's still consistently solid, with the occasional great episode. The first two seasons are pretty bad, though.

I've never watched Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad is a good show but IMO it's way overhyped. The best show ever, perfect, etc.? No. It is a good show though but there are better shows out there. It's worth the watch though.

The accolade "best show on television" is bandied about far too often, but in Breaking Bad's case, it actually totally deserves it.

I don't think so, but that's cool ('different strokes...' and all that)
Just outta curiosity, what shows do you consider better? :)

Still airing dramas or series that have ended?

Airiing dramas... (Shows that've ended is too easy! hehe)

BBC's Sherlock. The reason BB isn't the best to me is because it's first two seasons are tedious and drawn out. It doesn't start getting good until season 3.

No doubt about it, Sherlock's superb. BB IS quite a slow starter but, I would say, that's an essential ingredient for all truly great drama. A slow, tense buildup before all hell breaks loose, y'know?

Buildup is essential for good payoff. And I totally 100% disagree the first two seasons are bad.

Nobody said they were bad but they are tedious and very drawn out. Also, some of the characters in those early seasons are pointless...like Marie and Skyler. It gets good in Season 3. So, to compare...IMO Sherlock is top notch as IMO the writing is tighter and there aren't as many characters to focus on like BB has. Both good shows though but the Internet talk makes it seem like BB is the best show ever created. It's good though.

Build up is good but remember they didn't know it would last this long. They didn't plan for 5 seasons.

Right! Another day, another show!

Battlestar Galactica

LOVE BSG. Got into it after it had just ended so luckily/sadly didnt have to watch it as it aired. Still hoping they sometime they make a sequel to it set in the modern day that we left off on instead of continuing with prequel series.

Yeah, I watched it when it was done too. I'd love a new movie too.
A prequel movie properly explaining the original Earth is at the top of my list of "Things I would eat my own hair to see."
