Arrow Stephen Amell: "I have worn the Arrow suit for the last time."

Uh...but...he wore it in the Legends of Tomorrow preview.

It's possible the filming for that trailer took place during the filming on Season 3. So his statement could still be correct, that he has worn it (himself, as an actor) for the final time.

Well, that's true.

But all this means to me is that he'll be getting a new "Green Arrow" costume that will be in someway different from his "Arrow" costume. I doubt we'll see the actual "Robin Hood hat" look, so what look do you think Oliver Queen will adopt at this point. Amell says he doesn't even know, but I have no doubt the writers/directors/designers do. Will they base it off one of his comic looks? The sleeveless New 52 look, perhaps?

Really, though. We know he apparently becomes Green Arrow because of the news report in Harrison Wells' secret room, so he will no doubt be wearing some kind of green outfit to go along with his archery skills, and we can assume he'll wear a mask and, hopefully, a hood. How different can they really get?

My theory is they are on the verge of "New 52"-ing Oliver Queen, placing him in Seattle, with a more techy look.

Granted, this is a bit of a stretch, but we do see him headed up the Pacific Coast Highway (101), he is headed Northbound (as indicated by the position of the coast in relation to the road) and the 101 ends just south of Seattle in Olympia.

That's possible. Though I wonder if he'd move back to Starling for S4, or the show would split between him and Felicity in Seattle and TA in Starling, or TA joining him in Seattle. I can't see the latter happening, though, and I think the team needs to be back together for S4's HIVE plotline. If Oliver does do his thing in Seattle for a while, I don't expect it to last long.

Well, with all the hoopla over Ra's taking the "Arrow" away from him,it was a given to me he'll return with a different costume. My guess is it's the more comic accurate costume that will garner the name "Green Arrow".

I only hope they don't drag the whole thing out.The writers seem to think they're oh so clever, so I'm afraid of a season 90% Olicity/10% Arrow. At the rate they're going we won't even get to season 5,much less beyond.

They are really driving this home which means just one thing he will have a new suit and will be Green Arrow.

The vigilante
The Hood
The Arrow

That trilogy is over.

The only thing that gets me is just how different can the costume be to differentiate between Arrow & Green Arrow?

Unless they go full old school 70's Robin Hood hat/bare arms/goatee, I don't see how they can "improve" on what they already had.

And why wouldn't anybody think this new "Green Arrow" was anybody but the old "Arrow"? He's got the same color & weapon scheme. This whole season just caused the whole Arrowverse to implode and quite frankly, I don't see how they'll ever get back.

Hood gone. Lighter Green. More tech arrows and trick arrows.

This quote is so misleading........he probably means he retire as the arrow but it likely he return because something big happen.......similar to Tony Stark in IM3 destroying his suits

He's probably just trying to keep suspense for the casual viewer who don't read all the interviews, details etc. It's obvious for us who really follow every single detail and trailer that he'll have the suit on LoT and that in the future he is called Green Arrow, so he'll use one costume or a updated version of it...

I binge watch all my TV (most of the time, I did make a exception for AOS season 2 finale and of course Hockey), so I wont get to see season 3 till it hits Netflix, still haven't seen a single episode of The Flash. I love Arrow, so how the hell are they gonna have a season 4 of Arrow, without Olie being The Arrow?? I really need to watch S3 now somehow to see what the hell is going on, and why Queen wouldn't dawn the green hood any longer.

I came across this quote when I was searching for Arrow comics, and halfway freaked out lol.

Another quote of Amell's:

"Season 3 is going to annihilate Season 2."

:o
To be fair, this was said over the summer before most of the episodes were written so all he knew was a vague season arc. Based on his experience with S1 and S2 he probably expected that it was going to be awesome. (Which, although a lot of the ideas were great, the execution was terrible) Also it is his job to hype the show.

I imagine that when he said that, the only thing he really knew was going to happen was the Ra's storyline. And most stories involving Ra's are pretty outstanding.

Yesterday, I went and rewatched "The Demon's Quest" Parts I & II from Batman: The Animated Series. For all intents and purposes, it is the same story as S3 of Arrow. But I gotta say it is extremely hard to tell that story well, without Batman's involvement.

Of course "The Demon's Quest" has the advantage over Season 3, in that they told a very interesting story in 1 hour of animated television, rather than trying to tell that story over 22 episodes of live action television.

Frankly, I think the writers tried to bite off a bit more than they could chew. Perhaps they should have limited the Ra's story to a mini-arc at the end of the season, instead of basing the entire season around it.

I honestly don't like his costume. He looks way too ordinary, imo. I kinda want him to look like a superhero this time around. Right now he looks like a dude with a bow and a hoodie.

Now that's a good question.

I would like it if they did just go and make him Green Arrow from now on, but I get the feeling that Oliver may be either retired or semi-retired for the next season (maybe to help with filming of movies like TMNT). I think he will probably still feature in some capacity like favours for the rest of the group when they need it. I get the impression that Diggle could be leading the team from now on, maybe even as Green Arrow himself. The end of season 3 did seem like they pulled a Dark Knight Rises. Hopefully I'm wrong or at least Oliver is back as Arrow/Green Arrow by season's end.

Something like that would be pretty cool imo.

How can the show continue to be called "Arrow" if Arrow isn't in it? Is this supposed to be a reference to "Team Arrow",I suppose?

Having Oliver retire - for good - would be the stupidest ****ing decision in the history of the series. And that's saying something. It's not happening, I don't care what Guggenheim says.

He also said the show is going to take a lighter tone... which makes me happy.

I hope it means we're getting quick & witty Ollie!

I really like his "Arrow" look, so it should be interesting to see what they do with his next costume! :woot:

Didn't they do this on Smallville already?
