Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

Ugh... season finale and they didn't even kill off any of the lame-o's?

If they don't off Linda or Phil in the season premiere, I swear. :o

:whatever: This chick, I swear.... at least she got a good zap. Phil getting clobbered by a handcuffed Barbie was enjoyable as ****, too.

Those scenes were so damn satisfying. So glad we didn't have to wait til next season for Phil to eat a boot. That guy's a dumbass. He brings up the fact Julia is helping Barbie and .... that's it. He doesn't think to ask why that is. I wish he was in that radio station w/ that nosey Asian chick.

That's what I think about pretty much everyone outside of Junior/Big Jim. "Oh, the lady he's accused of trying to kill is helping him escape?.... eh. *****es be crazy, I guess."

Yeah, it seems like certain characters were unjustifiably dumbed down as the show went on. That's probably the only complaint I have about this show. Especially with Linda, I liked how her character started, but they've done everything possible to ruin her for me.

I have to admit that if they continue the complete and utter ****ing stupidity they've given the town along with the dome.... I doubt I will last a season 2 (is there a season 2?).

I don't think there's a single character that has shown any real intellect in this town... And it's dragging the show down for me. The mystery & intrigue of the dome & the egg is what they should be focussing on (& I say this as someone who hasn't read the book)....

Linda has certainly gone from a normal, sane police officer with a sense of justice to a Big Jim lackey who can't do anything without passing it by him and incapable of thinking for herself, including whether what she's doing is right or even legal. She's gotten dumber and more simplistic as the season went on.

I don't remember Big Jim having any super power of control over people to explain it either.

Phil is no better. He doesn't question why Julia is breaking out and rescuing the man who supposedly tried to murder her...

Junior is so attached to daddy he ignores common sense and his own eyes and ears.

The black mother, Carolyn Hill, just jumps into it and believes everything Norrie and the others say which is ironically probably the only smart thing any of these characters have done.

I hope there is a good explanation about why this town filled with stupid people is worth protecting from whatever its being protected from

Trust me, any similarity between the book and this show parted ways a while ago... LOL. :p

The only real reason I watched this show was Dean Norris. The characters are all dumb, the dialogue is generally bad, the acting is iffy, and the "mystery" is kind of dull. This story has potential to be good and dark, but it's not on the right network to pull that off correctly.

My revised theory about the dome is that the aliens put it on Chester's Mill to stop the spread of stupidity to the rest of the country.

I think the finale was the worst episode so far. It became too plot driven and not character driven. Characters are more rapidly and randomly bouncing from situation to situation as the plot dictates. It was not good, and had no real payoff.

I agree Magnar.....it is one of the worst finales I have seen in a long time.

It's like Phil and Linda are in a contest to see who can be the most gullible, clueless idiot in Chester's Mill.

Big Jim is a cartoon, how no one can see through him is incredulous and someone needs to bump off Junior, at least Barbie gave Phil a well earned whooping.

I think we have a winner! :applaud

I want a reboot next season. I don't care if it's not what happens in the book, just have whatever was going on with the dome at the end there **** up their timeline and have them all go back to when the dome first dropped and do things BETTER.

If the writers look back at this season, specifically the second half, and don't see that things need to be done differently, this thing is ****ed. Drop the over-dependence on the dome. It's a plot device, NOT THE PLOT. Get your characters in order. And for a number of them, that means making them actual characters.

This time Jeff Fahey lives. I think he kept Linda's stupidity in check. He died & she went full ******.

As far as the stupidity issue I think many of you see it as a audience member and not from the perspective of the character. Phil & Linda have incomplete information on Big Jim and Barbie. Phil knows Barbie as Max's enforcer which taints his view in a negative way. As far as Linda barbie is a stranger in a small town it would be hard to believe she would take his word over Big Jim.

I personally like the direction they have taken and setup the next season perfectly. This season has set Big Jim up as the leader/ tyrant. Next year Julia could(probably)be his opposition creating factions. Junior is already on the fence which is why he didnt pull that lever. There will be some who will follow her like the three kids because the dome has said so. They could probably form a religion around the dome next year we've already seen how people are looking to God answers. The dome and it creators are the new gods and they've chosen those who will lead and spread it's word.

All the info or not, why the hell would Linda say "If anyone's gonna touch it its me" lol

Incredibly stupid, ESPECIALLY if she doesn't have all the info about it

Was I the only one hoping the little dome would kill her when she touched it? Linda is so stupid she would probably grab hold of a high voltage electric fence to make sure it was still working.

Anyway... yeah, that was a stupid finale. How long did it take them to build that gallows? Five minutes? And even though everyone was distracted by the pink lights in the sky, I'm not sure how the hell that's supposed to save Barbie's life.

Hopefully they'll improve some things in the second season. I'll still watch, even if half the characters are worthless and the writing has been awful at times. That fight club episode was especially awful.

I'll probably watch the season 2 premiere but stop if they continue turning everyone into drooling morons with the IQ of broccoli.

Stephen King is supposed to write the S2 premiere, so I'm very curious to see what he does with that. I'm also curious if Phil is the same character as the book or if he's completely different. Because I really want to see [blackout]the cook.[/blackout] He was one of the best parts of the book, and in the show he's pretty lame.

Linda was got to be the dumbest cop in television history.

At that season finale/last scene was..... :down

They better blow me away on the first episode of the next season, that is all I have to say....
