Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

The book was much more ambiguous. We get the idea that it was other-worldly, but from whom or where was never known. It suggested that some alien presence was merely observing, but in a detached way. The main focus of the book was the breakdown of civil society and character motivations.

The mini-series has taken off in a whole other direction. It's obvious alien, and it looks like we are going to learn its intent. I like the direction it's going.

I'm in denial about Melanie being an evil alien. This is just a fake Melanie, and the real Melanie is somewhere else with Angie (who's also totally still alive somehow), and they'll show up later and save the day.

And why is Big Jim still alive? The survivors should kill him first thing next episode, just push him off that cliff and be done with it.

I'm just halfway through watching the premiere and all I can think is what a big ole snore. This is supposed to keep us watching? :(

Really? I like the direction it's going. Granted, it has some soap opera moments, but part of what makes a series like this good is the connection between the characters. And it had two unexpected deaths!

Poor Ben. The guy couldn't catch a break. The character had potential but then WHAM,

What happened to the hapless residents of Chester's Mill reminds me of the Matrix.

Exactly. I figured out early on that what we were being shown wasn't really happening. So why invest my interest in any of the story lines? It ended the way I expected, so all you really needed to watch was the first five minutes and then the last. :( That's why it was boring to me. Maybe going forward it will be better. If not I'm done. I fail to see how this won't be the final season, it had a serious ratings drop. Moving to Thursday was a mistake, Wayward Pines is beating everyone else.

I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes because I didn't have a clue it wasn't real until Ben mentioned it after spotting Melanie. I was thinking it was going to be a going back and forth in time sort of thing.

btw, why did Barbie and Ben see Melanie and noone else? All I can think is aspects of the dome can be seen by those on the verge of breaking the 5th wall. Ben already suspected it wasn't real.

Now it's beginning to look like invasion of the body snatchers. As Big Jim says, they're different.

I think the difference isn't so much in being a "pod people" but being affected by the memories of the Matrix. But they are also affected by some type of homing device. Weird.

Perhaps Joe wasn't affected because he never really left Chester's Mill even while in the Matrix.

"They came when I signaled without knowing why. The life force has taken root."

I want that hacker dude to die. If there's one thing I still enjoy it's Joe and Norrie and i don't like him being there. So please, please show runners, kill him off quick.

LOL I understand your feelings toward, what's his name? Hunter? He's a shady character and he hasn't earned my trust as a friend to Chester's Mill.

He's only now made an impact, but I sat there forever like "Was he here before? Am I supposed to remember him?", then my wife reminded me he was Barbie's hacker friend who came back, and I was like "That time gap did me no favors with this show because I remember them walking towards the light last season and that's almost literally it." But I really don't feel like going back to rewatch anything.
I strangely remember a lot from the first season, but last season got so convoluted with them going in and out etc. I guess I just tuned a lot of it out.

I get they are trying to shake things up, and honestly that's good because I'm very interested again. But that hacker dude, hate him, and want him gone. :woot:

Yeah, I hate that guy too. Wished he was the one getting choked to death instead of Ben when everyone was in the matrix.

I'm worried about that dog. Why the hell is it so attached to Big Jim of all the stupid people in that ****ed up town? Why is Jim going to settle in the woods of a small island when there's that other island with the big ass house from season 2 that is now ownerless?

Was that Marg trying to seduce Joe in the preview? Hit it, Joe. :o

On the Google + forum, someone suggested the dog was Big Jim's late wife reincarnated. Considering the weirdness of the show, anything's possible. :funny:

It looks like the affects of the Matrix aren't long lasting if one's will is strong enough. Sam being the most obvious proof. And what's going on with Junior?

The most intense moment from episode 3. Joe and Norrie get surrounded by the Christine pod people.

"Junior, help us!"
"No one goes anywhere until we talk to Christine."

This was after Hunter fell off the roof and blamed Norrie for pushing him. Looks like he's going to survive, sans his legs. Are you sorry, guys?

Big Jim and the dog. Maybe the dome is affecting him but in a positive way?

Didn't even know this started back up. Man CBS badly promotes their crap! :argh:

*sigh* Can't lie, after last season, I just kind of lost interest. Had I known when the season premiere was, then maybe I would watch it and catch up. Thanks CBS! :whatever:

Anyway, I am not by myself. The ratings have dipped a lot since last season.

It may have been harder to find because they moved the time and day. I happened to find it by chance while browsing the net.

That's what I'm saying. I don't get why would you move a show that was doing good on a certain night and then barely have any promotion behind it. It's like they wanted the show to fail...........that and bad writing.
