Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

Just come across this on the blu-ray.com forums in the show's thread.

People are quickly giving up on the show.

Episode 1 - June 30 - 9.41 million
Episode 2 - July 7 - 7.70 million
Episode 3 - July 14 - 7.64 million
Episode 4 - July 21 - 6.72 million

The lowest episode in season 1 was 9.72 million. The only time the show dropped under 10 million in the first season. Many episodes had 11-12 million viewers as well. People have really given up on this.

So this doesn't bode well.

if it's running on it's last legs, based on those numbers, they'd just better give an ending to this... I've come this far and invested my time into this, so at least make it worth my while with some closure if it comes to that...

Surprising but the show is still very strong, especially when you factor all numbers, L+7 & as explained, they are making money before even starting shooting the season with their Amazon streaming deals & all of that.

It could bomb, it'd still be a money maker.

I have to admit I find this season much better than the first.

Really? For me this show is really going downhill. Like you can really harvest and distribute a virus from what? A high school lab? It's kinda getting out of control.... :(

This show is one I just have on in the background at this point, I can't even be bothered to mock how stupid the characters are anymore.

I watched the first two episodes of season two. But if Big Jim is now thinking this entire Dome situation is about him every single time then that's annoying & the ****ing teacher is annoying. I don't think I can be bothered to watch this

I just fast forward throught the teacher scenes. Its clear that every one of her scenes is about her twirling her mustache while she schemes.

And if they could recast Melanie thatd be fantastic. That poor girl cant act to save her life.

FINALLY that prick gets shot... never DID like that guy...

Yeah, he just got more annoying as the show went on.

I realized that the only reason I keep watching this show (or the primary reason) is because Rachelle Lefevre is hot. Something about those French Canadian women...

She was on Letterman tonight. She looks even better in person.

The fight scene between Joe, Nora, and Melanie was like a bad high school play...

The Norrie, Joe & Melanie love triangle was hilarious to watch, just kisses her & then "Oh wait, I have an idea, follow me", what? :D

Thankfully, that scene with Barbie kicking some ass was delightful to watch, I just love how cheesy it all is, yet, it's still super entertaining.

Haha, yeah trying to figure out who is the worst actor between Joe, Melanie and Norrie is hilarious. I'm thinking it's Joe, but Melanie is pretty terrible too. And Norrie seems incapable of anything other than being stuck in permanent b**ch mode.

I also love how Junior is only supposed to be a couple years older than them but looks like he's in his 30s.

It's funny when I go on some sites and I see people talking sh** on the acting in shows like The Walking Dead or The Leftovers. It's like, have you SEEN Under the Dome? THAT is a bad acting showcase. Mike Vogel and Rachelle Lefevre are the only ones who even seem like they're trying. As much as I love Dean Norris, if this was the only thing I'd seen him in, I probably wouldn't be too impressed with him as an actor.

Great in Breaking Bad, sucky in this. :p

Well, I don't see it getting a season 3, they had better close it out this season. The ratings after the first episode made a major nose dive and have not recovered....

Yeah. It might just be the writing, but I also think this show is putting his limits as an actor on display.
True. You are only as good as the source materiel. He wouldn't be the first actor I've seen great in one show only to bomb in another. :(

I personally stopped watching after the second episode this season. But Ive been skimming the IGN reviews and been checking out this thread once in a while since then.

It's a shame because Mike Vogel and Dean Norris aren't bad actors at all. Colin Ford (Joe) wasnt bad on Supernatural. The premise isn't bad either. But the acting, even from Vogel and Norris, is really lame. And all of the characters are really sh**.

I hate to throw out this card, but if this was on at least AMC or FX (I think FX wouldve been better) I feel this would been so much better. They couldve gotten a good 4-5 season show.

Damn shame

This. AMC and FX are the best non-pay extra channels for shows right now. They are willing to go to the dark places and have much stronger stories.

Yeah, take Justin Kirk, for example. Brilliant on Weeds, and then he did that awful Animal Practice show. At least he seems to have rebounded somewhat with Tyrant, although he's just a bit player there.

FX is really underrated. Theyre track record is pretty incredible. The Shield, Sons of Anarchy (imo the best drama on TV currently), Terriers, Justified (although I only saw the first season), Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me dropped in quality; but it was still good in the first seasons also the acting never wavered, and that's only naming some of their great shows.

Justified is really great and I am loving the heck out of the Strain. :) FX could have saved this show.
