Soooo....how is the 3D?
I unfortunately didn't see it in 3D just 2D IMAX but I've heard it's really good in 3D

I sort of hope Spielberg will do a movie like this again. Not sure if Robopocalypse can ever get revived.
Michael Bay looks to have found not one, but his next two films to work on, as sources tell Variety he has lined up 6 Underground and Robopocalypse as his next two projects.
Following 6 Underground, Bay is also in talks to reunite with Steven Spielberg, who hand picked him to direct Transformers, to bring Robopocalypse to life.
At one point, Spielberg intended to helm Robopocalypse, but scheduling conflicts forced him to continue to push it off. The iconic director says he has always been fascinated Robopocalypse, but has not been able to find time to direct it himself. The handoff makes Bay the perfect fit, since it was Spielberg who handpicked him to take over the Transformers franchise as well.

Mendelsohn did get to mix it up as King George VI in Darkest Hour. He was decent/good in that, but I wouldn't have thought he was a good actor from his bad guy roles. He's very hammy and overacted in them, IMO, not to mention it's overdone at this point.
I agree. I thought he did a good job in the film. But like you I am also getting a little tired of his cliche bad guy roles.
I think it's weird that they removedthem going to school in the OASIS. That's what made it more interesting for me.

Its going to be interesting what this movie can do at the box office. So far it seems like a 52m 4 day in the states, and its doing pretty well in China.

Just personally, I feel like Rampage has flop written across it. And WB can't be happy they had to move it into Ready Player One's lane because Disney wanted to screw with them.
Rampage won't flop (neither domestically nor overseas). It'll have a very good BO run.
They removed a lot, which is fine by me. The book is all over the place and very ungainly. I know for pop culture fanatics, like most of us here, it is charming, but as a narrative it is chaotic. Spielberg distilled it to a roller coaster narrative and made one of the most entertaining movies I've seen not only in 2018 (year's still young) but probably 2017 too. I'm fine.
With that said, yeah, I do think we lost a little world building regarding Ludus (the school planet) and the kind of gunter clan fan community. But a worthy trade to me, as I found the book so-so, but really dug this movie.
It's not guaranteed. Bad reviews could tank it. Even if it does well in its opening weekend, it won't have that impressive of a box office run since Infinity War will destroy it two weeks after it opens.
