Steven Spielberg's ''Terra Nova''

Something Taylor said that made me think it was forshadowing, that whole being alone for 120 or so days and it only being a blink of an eye for the next person to arrive.

For them it could mean they never hear from anyone about it but for the future the marking will instantly be there.

Damn missed the show yesterday cuz MNF

Great show, the opening act may have been to genre for the average crowd though. Not a fan of the typical dislikable family member tropes. I personally am looking forward to it. Lost with a family twist I'd say.

Poor ratings means fox is will move it to friday in a few months then cut it. yay glee.

What does Glee have to do with anything? :o

It was not so bad, sadly it has more defects than qualities, but like the disappointing falling skies i'll watch it until it get canceled 'cause we don't get a lot of those.

Still i don't get why they can't make those shows right.
cliches, overlooked details, some nonsense and a little bit of plot holes...
Get some good writers for hell's sake!

If you re-arranged the letters of "FOX"....... you-- you get "Glee", don't you? :csad:

I'm not a glee fan, I'm just pointing out that it's fox's go to show.
It has everything the modern prime time audience loves to love.

How is it even remotely reasonable for us to to believe the father escaped from prison with some sort of futuristic laser cutter?

I'm liking the separate time stream concept if only for the fact that it allows the premise to work. The probe was pretty cool.

What was the point of the whole prison escape subplot anyway? It was resolved in like 5 minutes, and didn't contribute anything to the story. When they get to Terra Nova, nobody really cares, and he's "reinstated" as a cop before the first episode is over.

Does carving something in the past and hoping they see it in the future really work though?

Not unless it's on a massive scale, and even then it would probably be unrecognizable in a few million years. Nothing we've done on Earth so far will last more than a million years. Of course, they could carve something into the the moon, where even footprints stay for millions of years. They don't call it the Sea of Tranquility for nothing.

Just watched the premiere and I, kind of liked it. It has a bunch of potential. Definitely will give it a chance.

Josh might be the most annoying angsty teenage boy since Chatwin's character in War Of The Worlds.

As much as believable as a crack in the fabric of space and time :) and it gives some background and context to the character.

I just saw the pilot episode last night. I thought it was pretty damned enjoyale. I'll continue watching this show, until the end (or at least until it's cancelled).

About the whole "What about the comet?" debate. First, as was mentioned a few times, it's a seperate time stream. There's no garantee that the comet is even gonna hit the Earth. Even if it does, it's not gonna happen for another 20 million years. Asking how the characters on the show are going to survive the comet's collision is like asking me how I'm going to survive when our sun going supernova in 20 million years and burns the Earth to a crisp (answer: I'm not because I'll already be dead and fossilized by then). It's a stupid question. And finally, suppose the descendants of the collonists have to survive the comet's collision with the Earth 20 million years later. Unlike the dinosaurs, they'll have the ability to build fires and shelters. They can stock up on food preserves before the comet comes. Given enough time to prepare, a person (or a community of people) can live a long time without fresh vegetables, and can eventually survive without fresh meat. So long as they have preserves and suppliments to last until the ice age ends.

Sorry...kid from V remake has him beat.

As long as this show stays on the air I think I'm going to enjoy it. Unique cast, good pacing (learn from this Falling Skies crew), pretty big budget, interesting premise. Not as interesting as Alphas, and the setting isn't as appealing as Falling Skies, but the producion value of this show makes Falling Skies look low budget. I'm not talking about the CGI. I'm talking sets, camera angles...etc.

I won't lie though.

I thought the first 10 minutes of the show was way more interesting than the dinosaur portions of the show.

Seriously....it was Blade Runner....then it turned into Jurassic Park.

I personally prefer the sci fi portion of the show, but I can get into the Land of the Lost aspect of the show too.

Hope we see Sleestak show up in later episodes.:yay:

I thought that the pilot was good. Technically great and not that bad of a story.

of all things, i kinda don't like the main guy, the father. The actor itself. He is missing something ........... Jack Shepard had it........ Dexter had it......... Walter White had it........

The guy looks like somebody that should be in the background, not the forefront

Great production value. Best CG I've seen in a TV show yet. But the characters were flat and uninteresting, except Lang. I kept wondering when the dinosaurs were going to show up, which should be the opposite.

Watched the premiere. I thought it was okay. The first half went by quickly but I felt the second half dragged on. Josh and his sister are annoying. Well, Josh moreso because of his whining. I heard about the less than stellar ratings so I wonder if this show will last long.
