If the only reason why they think it's a different timeline is a lack of evidence millions of years later...then...well...things happen in millions of years. It's entirely possible that a meteor, ice age and other weathering factors will destroy most evidence of the settlements, while the few survivors will go on to have new populations in Egypt where eventually the pyramids will be built, those copper rods in those mountains will be placed etc (there's plenty of stuff that science cant explain right now) until eventually the last traces of technology and advancement in math, science etc will disappear.

The series premiere of Fox's Terra Nova drew a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating from 8-10pm on Monday. That was below what a majority of our polled readers expected, and has to be disappointing for Fox.

To be honest...the ratings could be due to having the show on so freaking late. I know plenty of people that WANT to see the show, but because of what time it was on, it had to be DVR'ed and watched today instead.

Just watched it and enjoyed it. It isnt groundbreaking WOW but still good. Though atm I am more interested in Sky then I am anyone else.

And what do people expect to happen with the son and his girlfriend? Its a LONG distance relationship where as of right now she cant come and he cant go back so i think they both knew that would be the end of their relationship.

But hopefully as the series goes on (if it last longer than a season) it will start to gear away from the family as the main focus and make it more ensemble which will benefit it.

Sure the dinosaurs didnt look great but I can put up with their current image since this isnt the history channel where they focus on telling a story just about dinosaurs. You have a whole production to pay for and spread the money out through a possible of 22 episodes (though they should just make it 12 episodess per season)

8pm is not late. Not like they can air it at 5pm

I thought it was ok, I did not like the acting of the Main character. His wife was pretty good. The Kids were ok, did not bother me too much.

At least when say this show is based on people going back in the past it looks like it. (unlike another show that is based upon World Invasion and mass population destruction and looks nothing like it.)

Anyways I never base an opinion on the first few episodes (heck the entire first season of Star Trek next Gen sucked imo).

Thing with this show...it doesn't have the "Fringe" vibe...where its going to gather steam quickly and gain a following.

It has canceled this year written all over it, at least IMO.

The scientists think it is a different time stream because they never found the probe they send first and you can imagine the probe was made of future indestructible alloy with a unique signature, radiation, radio wave whatever so they could track it millions of years alter.

It was an ok pilote. The premise sounds interesting, the 2 factions maybe more, the cryptic symbols that are a key to some "truth" about time travel.
I don't think the teenager drama will last long at least the daddy issue part, I hope. One good thing, the young orphan girl knows to handle herself and lies too.
After 5 minutes into the show with Stephan Lang and the jungle setting I thought "James Cameron should have produced it".

Ok start to the series, I will give it another episode or two at least.

One thing that bothered me was the weapons they were using. Why weren't they sporting 50. cal rifles? If I was going to be facing giant animals I'd want a gun that could put them down with just one semi-well placed shot.

Try 3:00 every morning 5 days a week. I usually go to sleep at 10-11 sometimes later and still wake up at 3 fine. 8 isnt late unless your in elementary school. Loved the premier by the way. Wonder what those markings on the rocks mean and what the leader guys is hiding. Looking forward to more.

I really don't know what all this *****ing is about. I thought the CG was fine. I'm looking forward to seeing what the show has in store for us.

As for the ratings, going up against Dancing with the Stars and the CBS comedy block probably didn't do it any favors, methinks.

My opinion on the markings is that it his way to send a message to the future. Why? I don't know, maybe to give this future timeline the coordinates or manner to reach them later in the season,
