Yes, that is Stiller in makeup. :wow:

Interesting. I probably won't see it though; it reminds me too much of night at the museum.

I read this story back in ninth grade, it was pretty cool. I hope they don't stillerize it too much.

They're saying from the 12 minutes people have seen at Cinemacon, this looks like it could be in the vein of Forrest Gump.

The footage of this got A LOT of positive reaction at CinemaCon. They're calling it Fox' Life of Pi this year. Some of the tweets:

Eric Eisenberg @eeisenberg
Just saw the first footage from Ben Stiller's The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, and it looks amazing. Nothing like what I was expecting. Wow.

The MacGuffin @macguffincast
Fox screened some footage from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Looked stellar, love more serious Ben Stiller. #CinemaCon

Wow, THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY looks good. exquisitely beautiful with a real Sam Mendes vibe. Oscar contender for sure.

Fox Presemtation: First look at The Secret Life of Walter Mitty—Holy crap is Ben Stiller look like he’s got a great film this Christmas

Cinemacon trailer for The secret life of Walter Mitty. Wow, just wow. This film seems like it could be really special. @RedHourBen

Last year Fox screened footage for Life of Pi, the Oscar buzz began here. This year it was Walter Mitty. It’s early, but the buzz starts now

Alex Billington @firstshowing
Fox just pulled a Life of Pi and showed 10 mins of Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I'm floored! Funny, heartfelt, amazing.

SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY is def Ben Stiller's most adult work 2 date. Footage showed heart, humor, and restraint. Def Oscar possibilities

Perri Nemiroff @PNemiroff
Secret Life of Walter Mitty footage shows unique tale of romance/adventure. Gorgeous visuals. After just 10 min, already in Mitty's head.

Based on the tone of the trailer and the early audience reactions, I will withdraw my previous comment on this movie. It looks like something I would make an effort to see.

trailer looked cool and Ive been hearing good things about this. Good for Stiller. I hope this turns out well

Ya I actually am looking forward to this. Everyone in my theater seemed excited by the end of it. It looks really good.

** Cut to me eagerly buying a ticket on opening day, and then sitting through Stiller fart jokes for 2 hours ** :hehe:

I am completely shocked. This movie looks like it could a beautiful film to watch.

Ya I was shocked too. I had heard a little bit about it, but I saw the trailer when I went to see The Wolverine, and myself and many I was with/heard you could tell they wanted to see it. It looks like it could be a beautiful, and slightly sad story.

And I'm shocked how much Fox has gotten back on it's feet, not just relaying on 'Searchlight' to do the good movies for them.

Wiig looks attractive with dark hair.

the movie looks very good. Stiller is good in serious movies.

At least we can all agree that Ben Stiller's film selections have been better then Adam Sandler's in recent years

Stiller's weird because throughout his entire career, you can see there's an auteur inside of him waiting to break free. From the Ben Stiller Show to Reality Bites to Tropic Thunder.

Then he does junk in-between. I know we all have to get paid but still.

Stiller's been in some quality stuff in his career (The Royal Tenenbaums, Tropic Thunder). I'm curious about this one. I'll definitely check it out.

I played both Walter Mitty and his creator James Thurber onstage in college. This is an interesting take on it. Doesn't look half bad, but I'm curious how much of the original concept is intact.

I get a "Benjamin Button" feeling from this movie, which is intended by me as a complement, though hopefully the movie won't be so long.

And I hope this is the start of a new trend for stiller. The man does have talent, I think he just needs to more behind the camera than in front of it, even though he does look good here anti did like him in royal tennenbaums.

I still want Stiller to do Zoolander 2, so I hope he's not done with comedy. However, this movie looks good. I do wish they could have been more in depth with the story instead of showing us a bunch of nice images with some soothing music, though. Fortunately, this movie has plenty of time to get out those types of trailers due to it's late December release. Speaking of which, there are quite a few movies set for that Christmas date. No doubt some of them will move, but this movie seems right for the 25th.

I'm excited to see this. Trailer was great.
