Will you have the option to turn it off if you want?
Update 2 Neoxon has discovered even more information regarding the nature of the data found earlier today. Thanks to some deeper digging, they were able to determine that its even more likely now that some of these uncovered characters will be playable at some point. The evidence comes in the form of data relating to character meshes.
Neoxon describes a mesh as how many triangles are interconnected to form the [games] 3D models. By looking at the number of triangles these characters have and comparing them to an existing, playable character, well, you see where were going.
Here are some numbers (in triangles):
As you can see, many of these triangle counts exceed Ryus, while others remain roughly the same as his. This works to dispel the notion that the characters listed above are simply background assets, but, again, nothing is certain at this time.
- Ryu (base) = 68320
- Juri = 76955
- Ibuki = 79831
- Dhalsim = 77792
- US Balrog / JP Bison (Boxer) = 62817
- Urien = 82455
- Alex = 66069
Update Neoxon contacted Shoryuken a short while ago to let us know that the word Fan comes from Chinese and means all, every, and worldly, words which could be pointing to the name Zen that weve seen floating around in various locations.
Neoxon also noted that the [character] listings are for the initial poses of the Character Selection Screen. Every single character listed will most likely be playable. This is certainly exciting information, but, again, nothing is certain until we hear official word from Capcom.
You can find our original article below.
It just wouldnt be a PC beta without datamining, and weve had no shortage of uncovered Street Fighter V information because of this sort of creative file browsing. So far, weve seen the potential count for characters and stages at launch, heard some previously hidden tracks, and now it seems dataminers could have uncovered information surrounding who we can soon expect to make it on to the games roster.
According to a post on NeoGAF, we could be seeing Urien, Alex, Ibuki, Juri, Dhalsim, Guile, Balrog, Nadeshiko and the previously unknown characters referred to simply as FAN and TUT in the future. Weve included some images of the code in question in a gallery below so you can take a look for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Just gonna reiterate that Zangief was on the leaked list. Dhalsim and Alex are the only two left and I think Dhalsim will be the one that takes the final spot for returning characters
If the "leak" is correct, the first six DLC characters are Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Alex, Urien and Juri.
I'm kinda shocked that Akuma and Sakura's names were nowhere to be found on that list. Akuma's pretty much been a SF staple since his SSF2T debut. And has been in just about all the Capcom vs games.(MVC1 and TVC being the exceptions) And Sakura's the only Alpha character that actually appeared in the EX series.
can we tell who those 6 are?
also, I just saw somewhere this launches Feb. 16th, 2016.

Character on the farthest left is Alex. His hair matches his render's hair when he appeared in the background of that NY City Street stage, plus the background image behind his silhouette matches that stage, which is where Alex appears. The silhouette is also wearing a big-ass head band.
Balrog? Good guess. I thought it was Dudley
Also, without a SF3 character on the default roster, this starting roster's returning vets are just SF2 and Alpha...again.
Yeah theres that. One of the reasons why SF3 never fully took off was bc they alienated the fanbase by moving away from the iconic SF2 characters. It was popular within a core audience but it remained pretty niche and didnt have the same mass appeal as the other games did
People wanting SF3 represented but at least those characters showed up in SFIV. Im still waiting on EX to get some love
And what is Arika doing these days? Why can't Capcom just buy off those EX characters, especially Skullomania, Kairi, Pullum and Duran and C. Jack? Other than the fact Capcom is staving if bankruptcy themselves...
Thing is SF2 is pretty much the most iconic roster and feature the characters that casuals are familiar with. Capcom wants the game to sell and unfortunately some people are averse to change. We're gonna have to get used to the fact that there is a core roster of characters that are going to be in every SF moving forward(I doubt they'll ever take as big a risk as they did with SF3 again).
But hey at least the Alpha characters in the starting roster here are ones that weren't in SF4.
