The console version had 25 characters. However the arcade version which was released a year beforehand had 17. The twelve original SF2 characters, the four new characters and Akuma as a hidden opponent. The rest were added when it came to consoles.

I wonder whose next.

I rather have that than the MK-styled story mode.

Luckily we are getting both as that's already in the base game. I dont see the issue with having an additional mode which may be inspired by MK depending on how they actually execute it

I wonder if SFV will be compatible with the FightPad I got for SFIV then.

Maybe in Season 2 but definitely not anytime soon. They were pretty clear about their upcoming DLC characters. Unless she is in the game as some hidden secret, I wouldnt expect her in 2016

Given the many games linked to Street Fighter (Slam Masters, Final Fight, Rival Schools) I'm surprised we have not seen more from these franchises (not talking bout FF in this case of course)

Here's the release schedule for DLC. Guess I was wrong about the story mode possibly being delayed to incorporate DLC characters since it will be released in the middle of DLC characters. Though Alex and the other 2 beforehand may still be in it. Capcom also said you would be able to accumulate enough fight money to purchase Alex in-game by simply playing single player (hopefully this is true of all the DLC characters).

i'll buy this game when guile is available.

It may be pure coincidence, but the original DLC reveal had Alex first with Guile second, so he may be coming soon. He's also referenced in the story mode trailer, so it's possible he may be part of it, too.

I actually went ahead and pre-ordered. I don't think I'll devote the amount of time to this as I did IV (particularly vanilla and Super), but I think I'm going to like it regardless. Pre-ordered at Amazon, so I'll get the M. Bison alt. Wanted the Chun one, but not going digital.

Yea I'm hoping I'll take to it the way I did IV but idk, considering its on PS4 and I don't have nearly as many friends on that console as I do the Xbox and add to the fact 2 of my most used SF characters aren't currently on the roster.
