Well if me expressing a violent act towards someone who exploits children by watching kid porn and God knows what else, makes me a Neanderthal, then so be it. Better that than wanting to coddle him, as you seem to. There are certain actions that people choose that are so against humanity, that there is no defense or justification and those people deserve worse things than a jail cell.

I don't want to coddle him, though. I want him to receive the appropriate punishment for owning some pictures. If it was discovered that he abused kids or whatever, then sure, a harsher penalty, but owning some pictures that you got from the cyberinternetweb is not grounds for violence.
