Study says older fathers make healthier children

Wonder what they define as "older." I was 36 when my son was born, and I feel like an old man at PTO conferences....hell, I'm old enough to be the dad of most of the other parents there.

an let me guess this study was done by older men lol

Did Hef Hefner fund this research?

My father was 51 when I was born. I must be a lot healthier than I originally thought.

The thought is terrifying
Did a study show younger women bring healthier children? If that happened, it will be even scarier

I read in a newspaper a couple of years ago that sperm quality gets indeed better with age.

Chances of conception are also apparently greater the older you get.
That is probably if one makes sure when older he doesn't get diabetic

Interesting, I've never heard this before. I know my dad was in his 40s when I was born. My wife and I have yet to have children (other than our god children). Guess, we'll keep trying.

So all that old guy looking for younger chick mentality is in fact deeper than we originally thought. :awesome:

Is everybody getting diabetes with old age?
No, but plenty of members from my father's side of the family get diabetes around their 40s, my youngest brother was born when my father was 43

Looking forward making the healtiest child ever created.

I'm 27 and my parents are in their early 60s.

Most of my friends' and classmates' parents have always been younger than mine, sometimes a lot younger.

It kind of bothers me a little, because it makes me feel like my parents will probably die before my friends' parents...

^That's certainly a major issue. I feel bad 'cause my sons grandma is 81 and this is her only grandchild, not to mention that his dad is insulin dependent klutz.
