We talk a lot about Larry Fong in the BvS threads, so I think there should be one for Roman.
He's worked with David Ayer on "End of Watch" and "Fury". Were you impressed with the cinematography in these films (or any other that he's worked on) ?

The cinematography was very solid on Fury.

Yeah i've only seen his work on Fury, which was really good. So going from that look to Suicide Squad it will be good.

Good idea for a thread. I loved Fury's cinematography and End of Watch utilized hand-held cam very well without going over the top.

I have faith in this man.

Very excited on how this film is going to look.

I was just thinking about who'd be doing the cinematography for this film last night. Glad you made the thread!

But yep, I'm definitely happy he's handling it. Loved the look of Fury and End of Watch.

Strange that people mention how EoW's handheld cam wasn't abrasive, because they're actually right. Despite that being apparent and frequent it wasn't in such a way that you got motion sickness or noticed it negatively. I still need to see all of Fury but if it's the same dude I think the cinematography is in safe hands.

Same. Cinematography is one of my favorite aspects of filmmaking.

I need to watch EOW and Fury ASAP.

End of Watch uses shaky-cam/handheld very well and Fury has some truly incredible long-takes in it. I'm even more excited due to the fact that it's shooting on Film instead of Digital.

Fury looked awesome, so I trust Roman on this one.

I'm sure Larry will give him some tips :D

Never realized he did The East.

Need to see Fury ASAP so I can get a grasp on what this guy's capabilities are.

Fury had cool cinematography. Not to spoil but the night scenes towards the end with the sky on fire was very cool to see.

Some shots from Fury, spoilered for size. Really liked his work on the film.

And I know there's the running joke that DC films are "too dark", but darkness can be shot well, and this guy does.

EOW had good cinematography, but in Fury it was simply amazing, as you can see in the thread, some gorgeous shots and they are throughout the movie.

Nolan is the only one who can use this kind of look for a comicbook movie IMO. i am afraid that for SS they will force Ayer to make it look kid friendly.

Im assuming by "Kid friendly look" you mean something like the Avengers (and i don't mean this in a bad way)

With David Ayer as director and who the characters are, I very much doubt this will be "kid friendly."
