Summer TV Sucks SOOO Bad....So What Are YOU Watching???

3) Read a book - JEEZE! I had enough trouble keeping up with DC's '52' this past year (finally finished it a couple of weeks ago!!), let alone all of the Graphic Novels that pile up on my shelf faster than I can get to them. So summer is a good chance to do some exercisive reading. I've already tapped into trades of 'Y:The Last Man', 'Animal Man' vol.1, 'The Justice Society of America Returns'....not to mention the books I'm reading in preparation for marriage.

Going to pick up I AM LEGEND and THE GOLDEN COMPASS.

Bout summer TV, Going to just keep tabs on RESCUE ME and what a crap load of movies.

Ghost Hunter, Monk, Dead Zone. Are the only shows worth a crap in Summer. My TV pretty much takes a break in the Summer. I Usually start to listen to music alot this time of year. Catch up on new music.

This is a GREAT recommendation! There's always so much music coming out, all the good-to-great stuff gets overshadowed by crap. So why not devote a little "investigation time" this summer. The new finds can make a 'really good summer' the 'best one ever!' Plus, grab a few nuggets to put aside when for fall, when the musical mood changes!

Ås many of you know, I've had HDTV since early fall. And there was this channel (used to be 2) that I got called INHD. They always show the same slop over and over, not a lot of new stuff. So I never pay any attention to it. But they recently changed the name of the channel to Mojo in an OBVIOUS attempt to rangle in more viewers than 5.

Well last night I started watching some of their "original" programming, and for summertime TV, it was okay. They have a show where people on Wall Street are documented with their struggles. I found it to be the most interesting. Then there was a show where these two professional poker players go around making random wagers on things...I didn't stick around to find out who won. And thirdly, there were promos for a show where this "average-looking" guy struts around Miami like he's Don Juan....and that's it. It's called "King of Miami", and this ordinary fellow acts like he's Brad Pitt.

I may check it out, I may not. I don't know. But that was my venture into new HD programming last night.

I don't really get Flight of the Concords(HBO). Reminds of the Comeback where your not sure if you yourself are the butt of the joke.

I'll give John from Cincinnati a try because I like weird existential stuff mixed with pop culture. It's kind of like a puzzle you try to figure out before the major revelation. Of course the revelation is usually a disappointment or simply
isn't revealed before the show gets canceled. lolz.

It's the show David Milch abandoned Deadwood to make. It'll get all of the backing it can at HBO, or he won't be welcomed back!

I've been watching Smallville. Yes, I know they are all reruns at this point, but not for me. Back in September I was all set to watch the season premire when I found out that the WB had gone off the air and been replaced by the CW. This was okay since CW was scheduled to give Smallville, unfortunately, the CW was not alllowed (not sure why) to air Smallville (and a few other shows) where I live. So I had to do without it until last week (I got through it with "Hereos". Then one day while channel surfuing, I saw that the CW show Smallville. I apparently missed the first three episodes of the new season, so I am a little lost, but happy that my favorite show (or should I say second favorite thanks to Heroes) is now on with all new episdoes (at least they are new to me). Other than that, I haven't been watching too much TV.

I'm psyched for the return of Who Wants to Be a Superhero in July (the 26th, I think it's back) - is anyone else? I loved the episodes I saw from last season - so I'm curious to see what kind of contestants they have on this year and what sort of challenges they make them do. Some of them are really hilarious!
