I do have a question for you Matt. Explain why a recent poll of NFL Hall of Fame QB's found that most of them felt Manning is better than Brady? Before you mention the media, just remember that these QB's have far more knowledge of how to play QB than the media pundits or any of us. They do not need the media to tell them what to think on such matters. So why is it that they sided with Manning? Cuz it ain't just about the rings, no matter how much you keep saying it. It ain't even about the stats either. He has effectively become the Colts' OC over time. He's the one calling the shots. The only reason that old fart OC is even around anymore is to help run the practices. Manning is the one calling the shots during the game. You were making fun of Caldwell for this earlier, so surely you will admit that it's pretty impressive for a QB to have enough knowledge to be an OC on the field with no running game when the entire league is trying their damndest to shut you down and has been for years. The stats can be thrown out as far as I am concerned. His intelligence and knowledge is what is the most impressive to me.

I would rank them like this.

Montana
Unitas
Bradshaw
Elway
Brady

I dunno. I see Unitas as part of the old guard. There is modern NFL and there is old school NFL. Unitas is kinda inbetween the two categories so I don't really consider him in my top five as he's kinda in a limbo. Then again, one could argue that he really created the modern quarterback so I can see how the argument is made for him.

Does NFL Network still do that America's Game series?

I don't know why they voted the way they do. I admit, he's an impressive player, just not top five because in the end, he just can't win when it counts (unless of course its against a Rex Grossman led Bears). Manning does know the game better. He has better stats, but in my opinion, Brady is the better quarterback because even when things get tough, Brady can still lead his team to victory.

Bradshaw isn't in my top 7. Won a bunch of rings with arguably the best defense ever. Manning trumps his numbers as do most.

Elway
Montana
Marino
Unitas
Peyton
Brady

But Bradshaw was able to win. You're putting more value on statistics and numbers than winning the game itself. If you play to win, shouldn't winning be what determines the best?

Also, Manning played two 9-7 teams on his way to the Super Bowl this season.

Winning a team game is not the same as winning an individual sport. You can easily say that Manning has more knowledge of how to play QB and run an offense than just about any other QB in history. He may be a choker under pressure, but that doesn't take away from his knowledge. I suppose it depends on how you look at it. To me, "greatest" is reserved for winning while "best" is strictly an evaluation of skill. Tiger Woods is probably the best to ever pick up a golf club but he's not the greatest until he wins the most major championships. People were saying the same thing about Roger Federer until he won the most Grand Slam events. I think you can easily apply the same thing to positions in any team sport. Oscar Robertson only won 1 title, but he is absolutely one of the best ever at his position.

But every situation is different. IF Manning played with the best defense ever I'd be willing to bet he have more then one Superbowl right now.

Guys like Bradshaw and Aikman have a ton of rings but I don't think they're in the same class as Peyton.

You'll never be as good as Tommy, sorry buddy. No more Marvin = safety net!

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat sucks!

Congrats to the saints! Da Aints....WHO DAT??

Holiday! Wondered where you were all night...guess that answers my question of where the buffet went.

I tried saving you some Rocky Road...

Yeah, it didn't last. :o

Usually they make quick rounds of hand shakes. Warner did it last year. A few Colts did it this year. Manning was being a poor sport. Funny how when Belichick does it everyone gives him hell but when the golden boy does it, its alright.

I've seen Brady walk off the field without shaking the other team's hands after a loss, but I don't hear any b****ing about that.

Elway would not be in the discussion of the greatest Super Bowl QB's of all time if he did not win two towards the end of his career.

I remember that Super Bowl fondly. I picked Denver to win because I wanted to see Elway finally win one. Also remembered Broncos Owner Pat Bowlen say "This One's for John!"

Elway threw for over 51000 Yards and 300 Tds....he's go down as one of the best no matter what.

You REALLY need to pick a side and stick with it.

How is Tom Brady not number 1? He has won 3 super bowls, and had the greatest statistical season ever when he finally got some real talent around him, like the other guys mentioned-Montana, Manning, ect.-always had.

Brady is numero uno. He is the LeBron of NFL. Wherever Tom plays for the rest fo his life will be considered a super bowl contender.

I have a side...I am Pariots fan...so I am sure you know my feelings about Peyton and co. over in Indy. I dont remember voting for Colts...but I never, EVER thought they would win this game. They actually played better than I was expecting, but yeah.

Brady is moving his way up. His career isn't over with yet.

Oh yeah, nice to see Darren Sharper finally get a ring.

Well...you did vote for the Colts to win.

I think this is karma for the STs giving up on the perfect season.

Which is why he fell flat on his face without Wes Welker this year. Welker is a BAMF and highly underrated.

Lmao at Brady being the LeBron James of the NFL

Wouldn't that make him Jordan?
