The cops were F'n awesome. Out of all these comedy movies that have been coming out this one is actually really funny.

I liked this..thought it was really funny. The only problems are that it isn't as intricate as other "getting to the party" movies and some of the things should have been done better for example they didn't really come off as "the losers" at school and not even the "socially awkward" kids either.

It seemed very much like a script written by 14 year old kids (which it was lol)

But I overloooked all that and had a blast...some real great moments.

Seth: Have your ever looked into his eyes? It's like the first time I heard the beatles.

LOL!

I saw this movie last week in a special screening, and it just got funnier.

i'd love to know what the people who didn't think this was funny do think is funny.

and how come whenever someone on these forums sees a movie they didn't like, somehow the whole theater they were in didn't like it, either; and visa versa? i call shenanigans.

It was all right. It wasn't 40 Year Old Virgin, but it was all right. These types of suburban teen comedies never really do it for me as I'm not really the demographic, so I'm biased in that sense. I think the humor comes from them just acting like they're doing this ad-lib thing for the whole movie, which can be funny, but it got tedious after a while. I think every guy has been in Evan's place with the drunk chick willing to go all out...and you suddenly feel bad about it.

i've never felt bad about it...

okay, maybe one time. :o

^LOL, if she's slightly buzzed, then yeah. I don't drink myself, so according to the movie anytime I get with a female that's had a few, I'm an unethical sleaze. :o

Holy crap, this movie was the BOMB. I enjoyed it more than Knocked Up. Two amazingly awesome comedies in a span of two and a half months. This comedy team is the best by far.

McLovin is the BEST new character to hit the screen in a long time.

9.5/10

Hahaha you're right, man.
I've read those reviews, sometimes here and sometimes over at AICN.

"I don't know what the big deal is, I mean, no one at the theater laughed, everyone was so quiet, and someone even threw a tomato! This movie = Overrated. Signed....SuPerCoOLStUdMoViECrItIc"

Hahahaha :whatever: :down

havent seen it yet but does it compare to the other apatow films
40 yr old virgin or knocked up?

*Old homless alcoholic bum sees McLovin and his friends come onto the bus*

Old Man: "McMuffin!! Where are your cop buddies now?!"

:D  Definately getting this on DVD.

You can say it.

It was better.

like i said, they were all awesome, it just depends on what you like. they're all the same deal, but just different enough to make it hard to choose.

i might put knocked up first, but that's just me, and it is just a "might".

Superbad had a bigger opening day (and single day) gross than Knocked Up.
It made $12.1 million last night (while Knocked Up had a $9 million opening.) Both being Rated R in America.

Knocked Up had a $30.6 million opening weekend, which Superbad seems likely to pass. Probably around $32 million.

Good Christ this movie was hilarious. It's now in my top 5 comedies of all time.

Movie of the Summer. Hands Down. One of the funniest movies i have ever seen.

This really was the best movie I've seen all summer.

i'd love to know what the people who didn't think this was funny do think is funny.
Like I said it my previous post, the trailers made it seem like it was raunchy like American Pie, now I saw The 40 Year Old Virgin on HBO and thought it was funny but for R-rated comedies I'm expecting sick twisted sex gags and not some sappy coming of age teen comedy like Superbad

I went to a 1:55 pm showing to a theater thats next to a mall and the room wasn't that packed.

Then again this film isn't targeted for my age group (31) so I can't relate to these types of films to the ones of my youth.

I confess I am getting a little sick of every other comedy trailer that comes out mentioning, "from the guys that brought you 40 Year Old Virgin/Superbad/Knocked Up/Talladega Nights, etc." They're starting to just run together.

i mean i cant believe anyone wouldnt think this movie was funny. if you ever went to highschool, some of the situations were spot on, unlike american pie... not raunchy comedy??? apparently you missed 1/2 of the movie...

Superbad was easily the best movie ive seen this summer... def in my top 5 comedies, i should say top 3.

McLovin is Classic.

"like 8% of boys have the problem, like i would draw ***** everywhere, all the time"

I think it's only spot on if you were somewhat of a social misfit.
