Superboy Prime Escapes

Anybody read Green Lantern this week? Guy Gardener is put on punishment. The sentence is "Prime Duty". Keeping watch over SBP while he's in the cube prison. This takes total concentration......no talking, eating, moving, drinking.......for a month. Guy is gonna be the weak link that gives Prime his ticket out.

I see it coming.

And who can stop him if he gets out??

I think the story will involve Superboy Prime but not his escape. His escape would have to be a major DC event, not a Green Lantern story.

It would be sweet if Emoboy Prime made his way to Apokolipse and pissed off Darkseid enough to warrent the use of the ol' Omega Effect, thus wiping the little bastard out of existence permanently. Darkseid gets notched up a few points on the cosmic threat scale and we get rid of a crappy character in one go.

Way I see it, it's a big epic fight with Barda, Orion, and Highfather all battling Emoboy Prime to defend New Genesis. Then, Darkseid just steps in and wipes the punk out of existence with a glance, satisfied that he has both destroyed a potential threat towards Apocolipse and that Highfather is now in his debt.

Ever notice how so many people complain about Superman being restored to his old power levels, but the same people want that very same thing for Darkseid?

Whatever Darkseid uses it on instantly ceases to exist, as if it had never existed in the first place. He's never used it on Supes because he wants to crush Clark's spirit before he kills him. I doubt he would wish the same for Emoboy Prime.

Darkseid was always meant to be a major DCU threat, and works best that way. Having Superman beat the crap out of him just doesn't fit. Superman, on the other hand, fights regular (albiet sometimes super powered) crime. Cosmic power levels don't really work for that.

Darkseid should be able to wipe the floor with Superman. It pissed me off in Superman/Batman where all Superman had to do was fly into him really hard and knock him into some weird space wall thing.

Okay. As I said, the Omega Effect in it's true function negates existence. Nothing is imune say for the Source (I/E: God). What Darkseid was doing there was a varient of the Omega Effect which is little more than a heat/concussion blast. If he actually wanted Superman gone, he'd be gone.

I don't know...me personally I hope Superboy-prime stays around for a while! He's a good bad guy considering he is an insane god-like being who went insane! Superboy brought up some interesting new plot points with that whole "my kryptons better than yours!" crap. I like the idea of Superman waking up one day in the morning and remembering that two of him exsist in one universe and that the other version is a psycho who wants to destroy the universe!

He said "You will fall," not "You will die." He's trying to defeat Superman, not kill him. And defeat, in Darkseid's mind, is on both a physical and emotional level, and can be infinately worse than death if done properly.

That's absolute bull. Nothing is immune to the Omega Effect besides The Source because The Source is creation incarnate. And really, in the gran scheme of things, even Superman is a small fish. Compared to the likes of Lucifer, The Spectre, The Endless, and other such entities, Supes looks like a weak little kitten.
