Title: Bizarro
Directed By: John Showalter
Air Date: February 1st 2016 8pm CBS
Written By: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa & Rachel Shukert
Official Description: Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat’s son, Adam (Blake Jenner), on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.

Andrew Kreisberg described the kind of Bizarro we can expect.
Cat coins her Bizarro, which is very appropriate. As she says, I can name Supergirl, I can name her enemies. The biggest thing about it that was a surprise for us as we constructed the character and the arc was how sad Bizzaro is. In a way, we sort of think about her like Frankenstein[’s monster]. She’s a monster, but she has a pure child’s heart. Ironically, in the episode, while everyone else is saying, ‘We have to figure out a way to destroy her,’ Kara is the only one saying, ‘No, no, no, we have to save her.’ That makes the episode so emblematic of what’s so special about Kara. She’s looking to save everybody, even if they’re the bad guy. Melissa Benoist will play a portion of the Bizarro role as well as Hope Lauren.

Melissa Benoist is playing Bizarro for part of it, not all of it. We do our own twist. She’s man-made Bizarro, not from another planet. And I don’t want to give away too-too much, but it’s coming up in a couple episodes … we did do a production element with [Benoist] in terms of how we made it.

Trust me I find it hard nit to lol but I just don't wanna spoil the episodes for myself

Did anyone notice that Alex had her purse in the coffee sho with Kara when they meet Adam for the first time?

A new 30-second preview confirms that the show's version of Bizarro does have the character's comic-book powers, but I'm wishing they hadn't gone there because, with the character being a man-made bastardization of Supergirl, I feel like there needs to be an explanation for how she got the powers she has, and I'm not sure they have the time necessary to provide said explanation.

We'll see, though.

Unless they give her the correct powers and something goes wrong....

She's an imperfect duplicate that's all the explanation needed for why her powers don't work the same

They were able to make Bizarro be a perfect physical match for Kara (at least for a little bit), which makes it seem weird if they couldn't get her powers to work right.

promo for next week looks good. Glad to see they doing the reverse s and inverted powers.

Looking like her is simple cosmetics, the powers most certainly are harder to perfect than what seems to be nothing more than a well designed, but weak mask. NOW, had she continued to look like Kara even after the punishment that she takes, yeah maybe a problem then, but just as she "isn't Supergirl" her powers are not going to be without flaws as well.

*confused* When has the post-Crisis Bizarro *not* been "human made", and thus had "human made" powers?

I'm thinking Max sent someone to pick the lock of Kara's apartment, sneak in, and steal some hairs from a brush, or something similar, to get her DNA, then injected that DNA into Bizarro Girl.

Just because she looks like her doesn't mean she's perfect, the closed versions if Superman on Lois & Clark and the Flash in the 90s series both looked like perfect replicas yet they weren't, in that they were child like. In this to me it makes sense that something isn't quite right, the powers are screwy (just like Bizarro in the comics) therefore the deterioration is already set in. I think it's absolutely fine and I actually find what you're saying really nit picky.

I think the only thing that we may be doing that is wrong in the "nit picking" department at this point, is just speculating too early. We do this all the time. So, let's just wait and see how the writers pull it together.

ya so hard to know how things be as the episode hasnt even aired yet.

RE: Sneak Peek #1

Lord is quoting Shelley. He's supposed to be the villain, yet he's by far the most interesting male character on this show.

RE: Sneak Peek #2

Are the writers trying to assassinate this poor guy's (Adam Foster) character? First, he name drops Mario Batali (which makes him an uber *****e right there. Why not Guy Fieri for a real 'tongue in cheek' reference? If he knows anything about food, he should get his mother's connections to get him into Thomas Keller's restaurant). Then he says Kara is "amazing." How does he know she's amazing? He's only met her 3 times. Then he says people wouldn't have cared (to send the letter) only "she" would (reverse damsel, mother role), then pauses when he says "I wish that I could..." (fishing, anticipatory, increased excitement). Just comes off as a guy who's trying really hard to get laid. Which in and of itself is not a bad thing, if this show was 'Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life' and not 'Supergirl.' Kara needs some of that Cat Grant cynicism (like the time Cat verbally b****slapped Max Lord in 'Fight or Flight.' "You're very sexy, Max. But as I recall, you're big on promises, but not much else.")

RE: Sneak Peek #3

Ah, that bit when Winn finds out that Kara is going on a date with Adam. I felt terrible for him. Everyone's pairing off (Alex/Max, Kara/Adam, James/Lucy) and he's turning into Stuart from 'Big Bang Theory.'

I did, too. But he took it very maturely. Didn't even blink. I'm glad Winn (and the show) will move on quickly.

He didn't name drop that restaurant his mother told him that's where she had the reservations made. It wasn't just three meetings with her those are three pretty amazing meetings she got a relationship back together that had been apart for 24 years that's pretty damn amazing.

Do we actually know that Bizarro is a plot to *kill* Supergirl, as opposed to a plot to prove she isn't necessary, and anything she can do, Lord can do too?

Tangentially, am I the one one who thought that the earthquake, somewhere during the writing process, was intended to have been deliberately induced by the aliens? Alura certainly seemed surprised that it took Kara so long to come out during it, which would fit with it being artificial as a way to get her in the open.
