The Dark Knight Superhero cameos?!

I know Nolan is all for grounding things in reality so i don't see any (even though it could be cool) superhero cameos happening. But this is still fiction and Gotham is a fictional city so i don't see a problem with a reference to Central City, Metropolis, Fawcett City etc. There could also be references to other Batman villains that probably won't ever appear in the trilogy.I love small easter eggs like that.
Batman Forever's "The circus must be halfway to Metropolis by now!" was pushing it. The Gotham reference in Superman Returns was so seamless I have never noticed it in four viewings.

I liked really liked that they put that in.Theres also some clocks in Perry White's office one of them shows the time in Gotham.
If I were Nolan, I would make the movies chock full of fun little details. If I could improve one thing about Begins, it would've been the inclusion of more easter eggs.

Singer had some great ones in his X-Men movies - from a little character bit like Collossus drawing, to all the names and files in Stryker's computer (Remy LeBeau, Franklin Richards, Project Wide Awake), Hank McCoy and Sebastian Shaw on television, the x-rays in the Weapon X lab (Archangel's wings). Small stuff like that enriches the experience so much.

I would love to see some news headlines like "Cryogenics breakthrough - Fries to receive Nobel Prize" or something. They're easy to thrown in and make such a big difference to us geeks. :woot:

Excuse my ignorance (not familiar with the DCU outside of Gotham), but what is Fawcett City? A retirement home for Charlie's Angels?

how about a wayne scene

in his office(keeping up the facde) and all u hear is this

"oh yea ollie! like i'd be seen driving a 2004 model anything!!! so when u coming down? you are missing tons of parties"

or a bit more mature
Fox on the phone
"listen oliver! wayne industries wont back down! i dont care what agreement u had with my predecessor...."

^ Yeah that'd be cool but I'd really hope if they involve Oliver Queen its in a positive tense rather then Fox being cold towards him.

I agree with this statement. Fan-service is a cancer to comic book movies.

I dont mind fan-service at all, as long as they dont go out of their way for it. As most people are saying, SR gave a perfect example of how to do it the right way. Imagine if she had said any other city than Gotham, would the line have been out of place? Not at all. They needed to list a bunch of cities, so they decided to throw Gotham in there as one of them, perfectly acceptable.

So, lets say the script calls for Wayne to be interrupted during a board meeting for whatever reason, go ahead and make it Oliver Queen on the phone. If the scene calls for a large group of out-of-town reporters, making one of them Lois Lane would be great. But they just shouldn't go out of their way to make tounge-in-cheeck jokes about "Superman working alone".

-A mention of Bludhaven
-A poster or billboard of the "Flying Graysons"
-Gordon to mention his son and 8 year old niece.
-I would like a funeral for Falcone...after Joker or Two-Face kills him and have Selina Kyle there.
-A news stand selling the "Gotham Globe" and "The Daily Planet".
-Talk about Wayne Enterprises competition in the form of Janus Cosmetics (Roman Sionis aka Black Mask's family company) and LuthorCorp.
-A scientist in Wayne Enterprises named either: Dr. Victor Fries or Kurt Langstrom.
-A movie billboard starring Basil Karlo.

****ing yes! Karlo was a superb villain in his original guise- he remains the best way for a Clayface to be included in these films, if at all.

I think that LexCorp is a very easy reference to make, particularly in relation to Wayne Enterprises. It would be great for Bruce to have Alfred cancel a meeting with Luthor in order for him to carry out Batman's good work.

It would be nice for Alfred to advise Bruce to visit Dr Leslie Thompkins, after his most recent battering.

Have vigilantes similar to The Spirit or The Question make an appearance amongst the amateur crime fighters we may well see.

Batman could upgrade his Waynetech equipment with something from STAR labs.

This is the only one I can see working, only because it's so obscure it won't matter much and it doesn't have any bearing whatsoever to the plot. Everything else suggested just sound like advertisements.

A horror takes shape when Basil Karlo stars in "Clayface"!

I think it'd be cool to have a scene with Fox and Wayne in a Wayne Enterprises' board room with a Stock Market ticker in the background.

The companies being watched on the digital board in the background:
Wayne Enterprises, LexCorp/LuthorCorp, Queen Industries, Janus Cosmetics, Axis Chemicals, etc.

That'd be interesting, subtle, not forced, and pretty unnoticeable unless you looked for it.

It would be cool just to have a copy of the Daily Plannet on the boardroom table at Wayne Corp, mabie even have a picture of Supes on the front. Don't draw attention to it, highlight it or anything, just have it sitting there, as if someone left it on the table after a meeting or something.

Or how about a TV in a bar or something showing a red or green streak flashing past the camera. Something you have to REALLY look hard to catch, but it's there.

I wouldn't be suprised to see them begin to reference the DCU a little in order to leave things open for batman to be in JLA

That is an excellent, non-chalant way to have a cameo of sorts. Great idea Robin!!

A drawing of Manbat as an e-fit for Batman in a newspaper could work, echoing the e-fit used in Gordon and Flass's briefing in Year One.

The Joker's playing cards could have "ACE" on the backs.

Possible (background) reference to a situation in Khandaq on a radio or TV (particularly since TV appears to offer a plot vehicle in the fragmants of script we have seen).

What's Khandaq when it's at home?

Teth Adam's country, probably in or around Sinai.

They did it in Batman and Robin to in the beginng "This is why superman works alone"

^ All the more reason to not go there this time around.

I've never been a huge fan of superheroes crossing over in stories. The concept of millions of superpowered, spandex wearing heroes and villains existing in the same world is a little silly.

But, I'm not against superheroes making cameos as their alter-egos. Maybe do a "where's waldo?" with Clark Kent or whoever. Just a tall, dark haired guy with glasses on at a press conference or media event of some sort. I mean, what's wrong with that?

Btw did everyone care this much about Batman movies staying realistic(no aliens, superpowered characters or any impossible events) before Nolan came along?

Capt.America is resurrected in The Dark Knight or a Nolan cameo ala Alfred Hitchcock with his numerous cameos in his films.

What would Cap be doing in the DCU?
