Superman|Batman 2 incoming

Man this is kinda hard to believe, news this early? If this source turns out to be hoax, feel free to delete the thread and laugh at me.:awesome:

I think it is a far gone conclusion that with the pattern of their releases, there will be another Superman, Batman, or both type of team-up video coming out within the next two years. The cycle seems to be Superman, Justice League, Batman, a second tier hero, a second tier hero, Superman/Batman, Justicle League, ...

Absolute Power was the only good story in the whole run.

Yeah, that one was packed with a lot of action as well and both Superman and Batman teamed up as anti-heroes. There was a great battle between Superman and Wonder Woman that could be expanded upon in this video if it were made.

It's disappointing to hear the least sold DvD getting a sequal, especially when Green Lantern and Wonder Woman have so much more potential. :/

There is only data for two weeks out right now over at The Numbers. Plus it sold nearly 200,000 copies in its first week. That was better than most of the other videos to date. I would give it a few more weeks before we draw any conclusions such as yours, but in any case it is a known fact that "if it has a cape it flies" (off the shelves).

Because Superman and Batman ensures loads of cash. :(

That's right.

Supergirl From Krypton would be my pick. The art style is great, and would probably lend itself to a bigger production value, which the first movie was severely lacking.

The Supergirl one would be good! Micheal Ironside as Darkside=Genius!

That would be a good one as well.

Supergirl would be awesome, and a great tribute to Michael Turner. I vote that one too.

So, who is going to bet Superman/Batman: Supergirl is due on DVD in Autumn?

I hope this is not an adaptation of "The Supergirl from Krypton," story, because IMO that was one of the worst Superman/Batman storylines. To be quite honest I like Turner's Art for the most part but I think the Supergirl character is one of the most boiring and pointless characters in comic history. Just my opinion.

Supergirl takes the Superman formula and perfects it. Her story is more tragic because she actually remembers what she's lost, she has no substitute for it with the kents and she is always completely alone. Superman can never understand what she feels because he's never experienced loss that complete, and he can't relate because he's virtually human in psychology. Supergirl doesn't have her life set out for her, she isn't stuck with a constant setting or cast, she is constantly changing with fashions making her more relevant than the archaic superman who still dresses as a circus performer. Superman is predictable, if he can't beat it with his bare hands he gets beaten to death or rescued by his dog. Supergirl is the smart one, as we saw in the Great Darkness Saga and Crisis on Infinite Earths. Rather than punching things with no success she finds ways around them. That is only scratching the surface of what makes her interesting. We have no idea where the character will go next, Superman will always revert to his status quo or metropolis/Lois/Jimmy/Daily Planet etc..

even if its based off that story it could easily be changed around-edited to be a totally different story. No reason it will be a straight on adaption.

Not a fan of the Supergirl character, But I'm sure I'll enjoy Superman/Batman 2 regardless.

While no further details have been revealed at this time, popular speculation has centered on at least two of the subsequent storylines by comic scribe Jeph Loeb: “Absolute Power,” which finds Superman and Batman raised as dictators by three time-traveling supervillains from the 31st century; and “With A Vengance,” which features Superman and Batman trapped in an alternate reality and hunted by the Maximums—the heroes of that Earth who were obvious analogues of Marvel’s “Ultimates” and “The Avengers.”
****ty Loeb stories! Hooray!
However, "The Supergirl From Krypton" would probably work best as the sequel to “Public Enemies”, since it directly followed “Public Enemies” in the original “Superman/Batman” comic and set up the subsequent storylines. As the title suggests, "The Supergirl From Krypton" reintroduced Supergirl into the modern DCU and followed Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman’s quest to train Supergirl and save her from Darkseid.
That's better.

I'd rather they adopt a good art style and stick to it. Besides, do you really consider Turner's art great?

I'd rather they come up with a new story. I didn't like any of the storylines in Loeb's run on that book.

I agree. Plus it would hopefully mean some new animated Darkseid voiced by Michael Ironside.

I agree and judging from what we've seen it will be like this:

"Hey Clark i'm your cousin."
And then some villain attacks. Everyone fights.
"Hey Superman, your cousin is hot. I'll abduct her. Moohahahahahaha"
Batman and Superman punch everyone. E_V_E_R_Y_O_N_E_!
Supergirl is saved.
The end.

Anyway, if there's one Superman|Batman story they should adapt, it's "Superman|Batman Annual #2", one of my favourite stories.

yea i was just pointing out even if it is based off that supergirl story most of you guys say sucks, it could be altered, or heck it could be a different story. We will have to see once more details come. Also what was the story in the annual?

My favorite Superman|Batman storyline is "The Search for Kryptonite" (#44 to #49). Which I'd love to see made into an animated movie.

Superman|Batman Annual #2

Its about the rough start of the alliance between Superman and Batman, but when Superman loses his powers, Batman understands what he means to the people of the world and trains him to keep fighting without them. Superman finds out how hard it is to be human and powerless, and develops a paralyzing fear of dying. But when Batman is injured in battle, its up to him to overcome his fear and be a SuperMAN to save his friend. The comic book ends with them understanding each other and becoming friends.

The book has one of the best pages I've ever seen (Bruce is having a hallucination):

totally irrelevant, but i'd like to see a batman hush animation.

As much as i love the Supergirl from Krypton story, if i have to pick between Supergirl from Krypton or The Search for Kryptonite, i'll choose the latter too. For once we agree, Young Superman. It is a much better story.
