This is an excerpt from a prologue of an alternative to Superman V: The New Movie I am currently writing. Go ahead and review as much as you like.

My father taught me much in the Fortress from the days before I was born. Those years of training in the far north of Earth brought me more than the occasional shoveling off of the entrance to the chambers. It gave me my true personality from my home world. There was much to learn about the long extinct world of Krypton, even before my time on it came.

There was a time before this member of the El family existed on Krypton, this was a few years before my birth. According to my father it would be the period in the planet's history when he was just beginning his scientific career. He often had a very vivid description of one particular notable day all the planet would recall. but wish they hadn't in the first place.
I remember it word for word...

The glaring sunrise of the red Krypton sun came over the planet's white and icy surface. Its glow from the fiery hydrogen spark, gave a great fury that brought the inhabitants below to life.

The pink sky lit up from the initial blasts of heat and radiation of the sunrise of a spectacular morning star. Krypton's glistening surface could be seen from space as crystalline and smooth as ice in nature, nothing in the universe was quite as beautiful and tranquil. The cities of the planet stretched in a keen spherical shape, in a band around the planet, covering each line of longitude and latitude perfectly. It showed the organization of the planet as a peaceful utopia where technology and perfection had triumphed for a grand piece of the stars.

At the planet's surface, these cities were marveled themselves as beacons of the power of the planet, they existed spherically in the same arrangement, with structures and buildings constructed to reflect in the sunlight, just as the crystal surface did. All blended in with the harsh, yet the beautiful tundra environment, stretched out far along the main features of the Kryptonian world.

The buildings of most cities on Krypton were sculpted from the environment into the grandest pieces of architecture in its solar system. Great buildings were carved from the natural, icy environment, and made into a living space without the need of crude construction from machines. All of the cities existed in a manner leaving Earth's Arctic regions to shame.

The grandest of all would be Kandor, the center of government and structure on the planet. By far the largest pieces of architecture to shape the planet existed here. Towers of crystallized ice eye spanned the city and shaped the skyline to beyond where the eye could see. The city dazzled with the majesty of the top of all other places on this world. The red son reflected off the buildings as of jewels glowing in the Arctic air, it was like looking at a long lost desired treasure, after searching for a lifetime.

The red sunrise made them violet with envy to begin the morning anew with wonder and tranquility. This feeling covered the planet each day with a new glow from the red fire ball light-years away to deliver a great motivation for peace on this snowball world.

Activity began to strand to life, as the sun rose, early enough it was for the Kryptonian inhabitants of the city to begin their day of work in the utopian society they had created in the many years of service which they created a society they could live in.

Kryptonians of silver and black attire made their way across the city and started their business for the day. Children played happily in the streets and wondered around without their parents supervision, with such a peaceful world the danger of prowlers did not exist. People assumed their jobs as ship builders, homemakers shopping in the local markets, scientists organizing to discuss business of the latest discoveries being made and so on. All were quaint and simple in their utopian movements.

Above in the upper atmosphere of the planet, peace was interrupted by the breaking of hyperspace barriers for a massive metallic ship to appear over the white, icy planet below. It stopped as if nothing could challenge it below.

Inside the ship, a deathly green figure came into sight, red eyes burned as bright as the red son in the distance, there was something evil about this.
