Well Todd will undoubtedly have his hands full with this show.

Not only is he spearheading the first live action Superman show (in true form) in over 20 years, but he is also going to have to really breathe new life and layers into Tyler's Superman like we have never seen.

I mean if he can make Tyler's Superman naturally progress into a leading figure of the Arrowverse community where he has a strong voice amongst the other group of heroes then that would be an accomplishment on it's own.

I am kind of curious if Tyler's Superman is still viewed as Earth's greatest hero in this new world given how many prominent (and more popular) heroes there are now due to Crisis. In the official synopsis of this show, it labeled Superman as the world's greatest hero but was just a reference to how he is known in the comics or how he is also known on Earth Prime?

If anyone can make Superman and Lois show great, it's Todd Helbing. Plus with the support of Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, I'd say Superman is in good hands.

Him being called the World's Greatest Hero should be on Earth-Prime and not the comics preference. We want to see the in-tv show continuity and not some easter eggs.

If there were a Routh Superman show, who would play Lois? Would they get Kate Bosworth again? What is she doing these days? Or would they recast? They could get Courtney Ford as Lois instead.

That’s exactly who I would cast

Sure isn't his Lois dead?

Not according to the end of Crisis. It suggests that maybe all is restored there since he once again wears the yellow and red S symbol instead of the red and black.

Not that I'm invested in a Routh show, I'm just lurking around killing time here, but Jennifer Morrison?

Bosworth is on The I-Land. Whether that show'll be renewed, I don't know.

I'm guessing Morrison would be in the same vein as Bosworth. Maybe they'd want to go in a different direction. I'm sure Routh would prefer Courtney Ford (his own wife) in the role, especially since they'd already have chemistry and they were both on Legends of Tomorrow together but are both leaving.

Would it be premature to separate HBO RouthMax ito it's own topic? (this reminds me of when everyone was asking for a Captain Pike series after Star Trek Discovery's second season!)

HBO Max is making a Green Lantern show, if Krypton and Superman exist in it, then they have an excuse to bring Routh's Superman into that as a guest star.

It's nothing more than a rumour or even just wishful thinking at the moment. The only concrete series is Superman and Lois.

The reason it’s likely more than just a rumour is who it’s coming from is very reliable. I agree 2 Superman shows at the same time is unlikely but the talks about the possibility of it are extremely likely even if it doesn’t come to fruition.

Can we all agree that if by some chance they do put on two Superman shows at the same time, then that means they don't plan on doing another Superman movie anytime soon?

Ain't happening.

Routh's Superman film tanked and they're not going to sabotage Hoechlin's new show by giving him internal competition.

There is absolutely no reason this would be under consideration.

It won’t matter if they’re on two different platforms. CW and HBO Max aren’t competitors.

You don’t understand how projects develop at all. Discussions in studios about various things happen all the time. Not every idea goes all the way, do you think only the shows you see make it to pilot or series AEW the only ones that ever start developing? The likelihood that they have discussed the possibility of it happening is high especially given the way Routh’s return as Superman generates huge buzz (the box office of Returns back in 2006 is irrelevant here). No that doesn’t mean it will happen but I bet you there’s been some talk about ideas. Plus HBO Max really opens the gate for different ideas such as straight to streaming movies and limited series.

look one one hand having two versions of the same character between movies and tv is one thing..but two versions of the same character on tv? That would be a pretty big fu to the cw cast. Hence why I dont see it. Also wish this show was on hbo max tbh. like damn needs the high budget.

Maybe a Routh Superman show could happen later down the line, but not when Superman and Lois is just about to launch or go into filming. It would undercut that show and what they're trying to establish.

It's partly the same reason why they don't launch two different shows simultaneously, because they want to allow one to gain momentum and build up its fan base first before introducing another. With two Superman shows on TV at the same time, they're bound to draw comparison.

It wouldn’t be an FU at all, the two characters have interacted for a start on screen. One wouldn’t be o Network TV the other on a streaming service. Both would likely not air at the same time either, HBO Superman wouldn’t likely debut after the first season of Superman & Lois. There’s many it could work without them stepping on each other’s toes.

But no I don’t think it will happen either however, we have to start thinking just because something isn’t the perceived norm doesn’t mean it won’t be future. At one point we didn’t think we’d have a TV DC universe at all let’s not forget that. Heck we didn’t think we’d ever get superpowers on Arrow but look how times change.

As I said above too I bet you they’ve certainly had a discussion at the possibility of doing something with Routh’s Superman beyond Crisis. Whether those discussions have or will come to anything remains to be seen.

Are we to assume now that Superman never brought Luthor to justice and he didn't spend all this time in jail? How much of Season 4 of Supergirl actually happened?

One series would be on network television and the other would be on a streaming service. Those are two similar, but ultimately different methods of watching television. As a result: there would be little competition and little overlap in viewership. In practical terms, it’d be the same as film and television versions co-existing.

Now: do I think it’ll happen? No. But it wouldn’t be a problem if it did.

To be fair, the CW shows do end up on streaming and get a lot, probably even most, of their profit that way. Traditional ratings are dwindling year by year.

I wonder if they’ll find a way to bring back back the old status quo. All I know is I want him on Superman and Lois so I hope they don’t kill him again.

Jon Cryer seems to have had a run of successive episodes recently. More than he maybe had in one go in Supergirl season 4. It has already been 5 for Crisis with another for the next episode of Supergirl. The way things are left, it almost seems to set him up as a regular cast member now.

I hope he is a regular on Superman and Lois and semi recurring on Supergirl.

I'm guessing there wasn't one on Earth 1 before.

I agree that Lex Luthor needs to be on Superman and Lois as a regular because we need to see the rivalry between he and Superman. I want to see chemistry between Tyler Hoechlin and Jon Cryer.

As for a Brandon Routh Superman series, it'd likely be a limited series and be on either DC Universe or HBO Max. CW is not fashioned to do limited series. Should this really happen, Superman will be all over television.

My hope for Superman and Lois will be that they will do big stories that will hook viewers. Other than Clark and Lois, I'm not interested in any other soap opera stuff.
