IS IT A BIRD ..? is it a plane ? NO it's Superman as cheesy as they sound, these famous words are echoed around the world by young and old, no matter how much of a fan you are of the Man of Steel. Superman is not far off from making an eagerly awaited return to the gaming scene with EA's Superman Returns: The Video Game, so we thought we would take another look into the revival.
The city of Metropolis and its citizens are once again under threat and only Superman can save the city from destruction. Pretty much the same storyline as always, but seeing as it is a return some pretty good features have been included. Although storyline is like all superhero orientated games, Superman Returns opens it up a bit more by taking the gamer down different avenues based on decisions made. Your choices will then ultimately decide the fate of the citizens of Metropolis. Metropolis itself has also had a makeover with gamers now able to explore a much more expansive environment both at ground and air level. Combine this with various super powers and the game becomes wide open for an adventure like never before.
Since our first look at Superman Returns: The Video Game, more screens and features have become available, so take a look at what's on hand prior to release mid September.
Key Features </I></B>
- A Huge Open World - Go anywhere in Metropolis right away-exploring the first open-world game that extends from the street all the way into the atmosphere. Non-linear gameplay and innovative flight, rescue, and combat mechanics let you create your own experience.
- The Authentic Superman Experience - True to more than 60 years of DC Comics fiction and featuring film-inspired missions and voiceover from Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, and Kevin Spacey, this is the Superman game fans have always wanted.
- Be Creative with Your Powers - You're immediately given all your super powers, but must learn to master and combine them-for example, use your Super Breath to freeze water into a giant icicle and then hurl it at an enemy with your Super Strength.
- Your Choices Matter - Will you stop pursuing a super villain to prevent a tornado from destroying Metropolis? Make critical decisions to save the city, but choose wisely or its citizens could pay the ultimate price.
- Missions and Mini-Games - Protect Metropolis from seven of the most notorious villains in the DC Comics Universe including Metallo and Parasite and conquer more than 60 colossal missions only Superman can overcome.
