01. Batman '89
02. Wonder Woman
03. Superman: The Movie

Burton's Batman is my second favourite comic book film, so it's an easy choice for me.

Superman the Movie, it's the greatest comic book film of all time, untouchable as far as I'm concerned.

Love all three though.

This is tough because they're all very good and hold a special place in my heart. But I had to go with Supes.

Its not *really* a fair comparison, given the great gaping time difference. But I'll give the nod to Wonder Woman anyway, because "old and important" shouldn't automatically give points over "newer and better".

1) Wonder Woman - My favorite of these, and it's not even close
2) Superman the Movie - Christopher Reeve and John Williams were excellent, but the rest of it kind of bored me.
3) Batman - It was alright (not bad or anything), but I fell asleep while watching and just didn't care enough to finish

01. Batman
02. Wonder Woman
03. Superman: The Movie

Burton's 'Batman' is just magical and what
started my love for the character when I was just a
toddler. It'll always be the most important comic book film for me.

Superman: The Movie
Wonder Woman
Batman

Wonder Woman gets my vote. I respect Superman: The Movie for creating the template that would be followed for decades to come, but it draws from and presents my least-favorite era of Superman, so I just can't get into it. And I love Batman '89 but it's not even the 1st or 2nd best Batman movie, imo.

I doesn't feel fair to compare them with Superman and Batman handcuffed by their respective time periods, but Wonder Woman is vastly superior to both.

Wonder Woman
Superman: The Movie
Batman

They were all good, but S:TM hasn't aged well and now the effects look cheesy. And while Batman was a step in the right direction, it seemed to still have too much of the goofy elements from the Batman TV show.
Plus it was more like Batman was just a supporting character rather than the star of his own movie. Wonder Woman hits all the right notes. She is the undisputed star of the movie and as of 2017 the effects look great.

I'm sorry, Wondy, but B'89.

Never cared about Superbore and I guess never will.

But "Newer" doesn't automatically get votes over "Old and important" either.

Which is exactly why I didn't want to do this type a poll less than a week after WW came out. BB and MOS were recent enough to stand a chance.

This is a difficult poll because I love all 3 films.

This is hard, but BATMAN '89 for me. I don't know if its the best out of the three but it is the movie with the most emotional, nostalgic resonance for me. I was in love with the Tim Burton movies as a little kid and and those movies (coupled with Adam West's Batman re-runs, RIP) were my gateway drug into the world of comic books and superheroes.

Keaton+Nicholson+the beautiful gothic cinematography+Danny Elfman's iconic score+ plus my personal favorite batsuit (and batmobile) ever= makes this a winner for me.

Superman The Movie
Wonder Woman
Batman 89

B'89 has memorable elements but the more I watch it it doesn't really hang together that well. IMO I've always been convinced the most enduringly exciting thing about it was the lead in hype. It's a film carried by it's 2 leads, the sets and the score.

1. Wonder Woman
2. Batman '89
3. Superman the Movie

I know you're comparing origin/first films, but just to say that if Batman Returns had been there instead of Batman '89 it would have taken the top spot.

I don't think it's a fair comparison, mostly because special effects and audience sensibilities have changed a lot over the past 40 years.

While Superman the Movie easily has the best lead performance of the three, it's effects don't age that well, and the first act is far too slow for today's audiences.

Batman '89 I feel has aged well, but again more because of the performances - but Batman only really owns a half-share in that film.

Wonder Woman, well not as strong a performance as Reeve, but easily the most spectacular and kick ass. While I think GG was great, and carried the film I found WW's supporting cast to be very poorly developed.

So my personal favorites would be

1. Superman the Movie
2. Batman '89
3. Wonder Woman

Having said that they're all really good films. Personally, I think WW will suffer a little as CGI effects continue to improve - but her own fight choreography will stand up alongside films like the Matrix, as really superior.

Superman: The Movie.

Reeve is superior to Keaton and Gadot. While Keaton is a good actor, he does not embody Batman as well as Reeve embodies Superman. While Gadot is a great embodiment of Wonder Woman, she is definitely not as good an actor as Reeve, charming as she is.

Compared to B89 and WW, STM's story is better at being compelling all the way through.

The supporting cast of STM trumps the supporting cast of both B89 and WW.

B89 easily has the best villain. While its popular to hate on Hackman's Lex, he is definitely superior to any villain in WW.

Clark/Lois has the best romance, but Diana/Steve isn't far behind.

The score for both STM and B89 blow away WW's.

Which leads me to my next point. Some people think that STM and B89 being of their time somehow hinders both films. WW is just as much a product of its time, and this isn't necessarily an advantage. In some ways, it falls into the cliches of most 21st century superhero films, like a weak, CGI and explosion heavy third act, unmemorable villains, and an unmemorable score.

Superman: The Movie.

But I will say this, I'm incredibly biased. I'll always have a soft spot for the movie simply because it's the very first superhero movie I've any recollection of seeing (followed closely by Batman 89') which sucked me into the genre & world as a child & carried through my enjoyment of the Superman character till this very day.

It's hard to articulate this next statement but, I think maybe since about 1999/2000 the movie's age really started to show & there's been a lot of even mediocre MCU & DCCU movies that have been released since that time that are arguably better IMO, Superman: The Movie will always be one of my favorite superhero movies.

Superman: The Movie.

There is still some magical scenes within the movie that separate it from the other two.
