I'm hoping Snyder goes full on fantastical when adapting Gotham.

I wanna see something akin to this. Grimy, gothic, decaying art deco mixed in with modern dark Shanghai style buildings. Basically Prague meets Midtown Manhattan meets Detroit.

Batman and Superman's cities should reflect their characters.

Metropolis should be shining, modern and sun swept.

Gotham should be overcast, dark and gritty.

Snyder did nail that period in Watchmen.

Hey guys, I was going to make a separate thread for this, but seeing as we have this one here, it seems redundant.

Detroit is about 2 hours from where I live. I am fully committed to being there for most of the filming. The plan is to be there every weekend, depending on what the filming schedule is - I'll likely take off work for a few week days as well.

I haven't had a chance to look through this thread, so I have a few questions...

- Is anyone else planning on being in Detroit for this?

- If so, want to meet up (a group of us) for a SHH hang?

- Do we know specific shooting locations and dates yet?

My understanding is that the film is in Detroit for a large portion of February all the way into August... Is this correct? If so, that gives me a HUGE chunk of time to play with, and I am already in the process of scouting hotels.

I imagine we won't see much because a lot of the filming will take place inside the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, but they are also filming several exterior scenes downtown as well.

Keep me posted, and vice versa! I'm going to be all over this.

Hahaha, that's what I hear.
That's why I want an SHH group hang. My girlfriend refuses to go to Detroit with me, so it appears I'm going solo.

Luckily though, the camera I just bought (a nice enough Sony) was about $70. I can live with parting with it.

I did get pics for The Dark Knight Rises in Pittsburgh. That was the time of my life. I was there for three days with my best friend. We stood literally next to the camouflage Tumblers and touched them when we weren't supposed to. We walked on the steps of City Hall that Batman and Bane were fighting on. I saw Wally Pfister and Christopher Nolan with my own damn eyes. It was unreal.

Yeah, this is strictly for the exterior scenes downtown. Although I'll make every honest attempt to get some pictures of crew members/actors arriving and leaving the soundstages.

Looking back at this thread, I guess I got one of the locations right even though it wasn't a Gotham scene.
