BvS Superman vs Batman movie to feature Wonder Woman?

Major problem with this idea: This isn't supposed to be a solo Batman film. What female villain in the Batman universe has been both Batman/Bruce's love interest and a formidable foe to Superman?

They are tying two worlds together. Batman would bring his own characters from his world. Like when Talia was in the Superman animated tv show when Batman was in Metropolis. Or when Joker teamed up with Lex. When characters crossover they tie them in somehow.

Superman wouldn't necessarily have to deal with all the villains himself anyway. Batman would have his own to deal with as well. Or they could be part of a larger story or organisation.

The creative staff might not really care about Diane Lane. There were rumours they wanted Josh Brolin for a lead role. If that is the case, they don't care about Lane.

These are business decisions...they were trying to cast Batman. I don't think it was a slight against Lane. Lane and Brolin would likely understand that and would've been amicable and professional if he was cast.

Assuming your theory is correct, what villains would fit the bill? They can't do Talia or Catwoman again (can they?). Poison Ivy seems like an awkward fit. Somebody like Livewire would make a good challenge for Superman but wouldn't fit as a "love interest" for Bruce Wayne. Mercy Graves? Or are they actually going to pull a Rachel Dawes and just invent a new character?

If not Wonder Woman as suspect #1, then, considering the casting call and the actresses testing for the female role, suspect #2 could be

It could be someone like Lady Shiva, in a hired assassin role or something like that.

Or Sasha Bordeaux, who works for Checkmate.

These Batman characters (including Talia and Catwoman) blur the lines between hero and villain.

They don't necessarily have to be villains either, but secretly part of a larger operation.

Tying the Amazons to Krypton is not only lazy but a downright awful idea!!!!

I would prefer that Bruce not have a love interest at all. How about he hits on Lois instead like in the World's Finest 3 parter?! It doesn't have to be exactly like how it looked in the cartoon but something along those lines somewhere.

And I'm not sure I'm sold on those 3 choices either. I'm hoping for Jaimie Alexander as well.

The actress, who plays Sif in "Thor," started a bit of a ruckus when she announced at a recent comic book convention that she may or may not have met with Warner Brothers about the role, but stayed relatively mum on the prospect otherwise. And when MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Alexander on the "Thor" red carpet in Los Angeles, she wasn't (initially) forthcoming about the movie:

"Like, who would win in a fight?" Alexander joked when asked about "Batman vs. Superman." "Probably Superman, I guess, I dunknow."

When pressed for more info, the actress continued to joke and defer, until she more seriously said, "I've been a huge fan of Wonder Woman since I was a little kid. So I'm absolutely flattered that a lot of people have chosen me as their fan choice. I think that is pretty epic, and incredibly humbling."

"These things in recent years, the fans can get things started and they can actually come to pass, which is kind of a cool age we live in," Horowitz added.

Humbled, Alexander noted, "Yeah, that's pretty incredible, we'll see. That would be rad."

Horowitz then added that it seems like the choice is up to the fans then, with Alexander doing a take to the camera in her best "dude" voice, saying, "So, come on man!"

So no definite confirmation from this, but two important take-aways: Alexander is clearly interested in the role of Wonder Woman; and if the fans make enough of a fuss, anything is possible.

As much as I would like Jaimie as Diana/WW, I don't think it's going to happen. Marvel's contract being the thing standing in the way...

It's not an obstacle, she's free to do other movies.

Agree completely. It just reeks of WB's cowardice and unwillingness to adapt anything that isn't Batman or Superman. They have to make Wonder Woman an offshoot of the Superman mythology. :whatever:

Here is my idea for wonder woman.

They start off with a solo movie. The entire movie should take place on the island. In the beginning you quickly explain the origin of the island and the birth of Diana. Give her an awesome ancient villain. Show crazy beasts make it action packed. Do not show the ww costume. Do not be afraid of any of the controversal lesbian or bondage stuff that took place on the island between some amazon women, just play it off right and respectfully. have this movie self contained but with a teaser. At the last scene of the movie have the aiplaner crash land on the island and out walks Steve trevor.

Call it wonder woman amazon warrior. but don't refer to her as ww in the movie.

They should have her as a newly elected US ambassador, the youngst in years.

Diana was instructed not to use her powers, and instead, simply bridge the broken gaps between nations through peace within politics.
It plays in with the idea that the Gods exist in ways that people are unable to see.
Ares could for a number of years be a war criminal, then assume the form of a politician. Forever fueling conflicts.
Aprhodite, assuming the form of the world's most beautiful celebrity model. Then when that fades, she repeats.

Diana's goal however, is to obtain peace, by any means necessary.

Imagine her back story was more military driven, and that's what landed her in Congress.
She gained a streak of obtaining criminal secrets without the use of torture, the Lasso of Truth.

The Greek mythology type stuff comes later on.

I think at this point in the game, with the failed starts of WW for the big screen you will not see her start in her own movie... she will be a cameo introduce here in BvS to open the door to a more fleshed out team up later.

Frankly I hope the WW portrayal comes across somewhere close to this, and I'll be extremely happy... a powerful, strong, and beautiful WW figure has been done very well already. Unfortunately, she was a princess on the wrong planet.

Jamie Alexander would do great in the character, just think she needs a little more muscle-up as Collins did here to pull off the image entirely.

^ I do think WW should be "teased" at the end of BvS for a solo film. That would ensure WW will make bank.

Contracts can be broken and considering she's a bit player in those movies I'm sure they could find away around it. I don't think she would be auditioning or speaking with them if her contract interfered with it as she would be wasting everyone's time.

That said, it's also a good excuse for her if she doesn't get the role. Not many actor's like to admit what roles they have lost.

I'd definitely get behind Lynn Collins as well.

No Lynn Collins for me, she was one of the many reasons why John Carter sucked big time... Terrible actress...

I thought she was one of the charming parts of that film.

It was? I remember liking her there

I don't know about how they'll handle the Amazon mythology, but I think it'd be great to have Faora be a WW villain. The black hole sent her to Paradise Island.

Lauren Cohan for WW.

And according to other rumours, Diana is only going to be in a cameo.
