superman takes this...superman's mettle will wear gladiator down and thusly superman will beat him....gladiator maybe tough...but superman is the best were it counts the most.

i'd say superman for the win.

be an interesting fight to watch tho..the two aliens battling it out!

Superman has beaten Thor AND The Hulk, both of whom have trounced Gladiator, so i Think Supes takes it
thor and supes are 50/50 there when they fought. and yes supes took out hulk but hulk give him afew hits supes didnt like. when juggy punched gladiator it didnt do a damn thing to him. he threw his ass way across the ocean and juggernaut is just as strong as hulk.

when the hell did thor take out gladiator ?

It's in that Gladiator respect link that was a bit above. Thing is tho that their first fight Gladiator owned Thor, who many think can beat Superman. Second time from what that link says was Thor playing dead then attacking when Gladiator turned around, tho I haven't read it myself. Gladiator also snapped Hyperion's neck and Hyperion is on Superman's level more or less too.

So we are asking whether Superman with mohawk can beat Superman, who has also fought Superman?

Like has been said before... If it's in the Animated series, I definitley give it to Gladiator. They made Superman a ***** in that show, and it always pissed me off.

If it's in the comic books, and we're talking about both of them in their prime, Supes wins hands down. I know it get's old, but Pre-Crisis Superman did some ridiculous things that no character Gladiator fought ever came close to doing.

Are we talking about PC Superman, though? I thought it was your standard PC PreIC Superman.

Well that's no fair. Either today's Supes (Post IC, which he's getting more powerful) or PC, at his best. It's not fair to take his weakest incarnation and throw it in.

He's weaker than he was Pre IC currently, just growing back into his normal power levels.

A close one seeing as the characters basically have the same powers and speed, although Gladiator's powers are dependent upon his confidence. I would have to agree with the afore mentioned statement that it's no easy feat to actually break his confidence, the only reason why he did so against Sue was because he saw her as a woman, weak, someone he could demolish easily and it cost him his pride. In Superman, there will be no such estimate. It's proof positive that in other encounters that may have presented diffifuclties that Gladiator retains that confidence and ends with him cleaning house.

On the other hand, based on current Superman, he's well....Superman. This guy has the brains, the brawn, and the heart to endure some of the nastiest punishment available in this universe and the next. I'd bet that Superman is much younger and therefore less experienced in battle compared to Gladiator who seems to of been around the galaxy for quite some time, but Supes has a habit of overcoming odds.

Also, close range, Gladiator is easily Superman's superior in hand to hand combat, and based on the fact that he literally snapped Hyperion's neck, another character that's on Superman's level as far as powers, ect. I'm going for Gladiator in this one.

You can't say for a fact that Gladiator is Superman's superior in hand to hand. Granted, he has more formalized training, but I'd be willing to bet Superman gets into battles more frequently. Gladiator only fights when he is duty bound to do so, whereas Superman fights for truth and justice, ergo anytime, anywhere when someone is in trouble.

And Hyperion is a poor man's Superman. Relative to Marvel he's a Superman archetype character, but he hasn't performed feats on par with Superman at his max.

Not always. Towards the end of JLU, he was pretty powerful.

Actually, the Imperial Guard are utilized quite often. Any threat, or anything the Majestrix wants them to check out, they check out. They're always on guard, and always in rank. So it would suffice to say they train a lot.

Superman has been relegated to pretty much just punch and hit, where Gladiator has a bit more experience with actual combat and war with just his hands.

The Spaniard kills Superman and then looks at us from the comic page and asks....."Are you not entertained!"

when did gladiator snap hyperions neck? who ended up winning? (assuming that wasn't the end that is)

I haven't read that issue myself, but did hear Hyperion had his neck snapped before I came to these boards. Hyperion is still alive last time I checked tho, I'm sure someone can fill you in better than I could without wikkipedia-ing it.

i dont consider him the man of steel in the cartoon series. he got his ass kicked by alot of guys that are even weaker than hulk and juggernaut and supes has beatin them both before.
