SUPERNATURAL Season 8! - Part 1

A prophet going insane is odd though...why would they be predetermined to be prophets if they can easily go insane?

Chuck looked close to insanity when Sam and Dean found him. Alcohol ironically was probably his saving grace. They may be conduits, but their minds are still vulnerable to wear and tear. Chuck found some releases in his vices, whereas Kevin is alone most of the time in a boat, working most of the day, barely sleeping, not knowing where his mother is, or when he might die.

If Chuck was God though it was most likely all an act.

As you know that is a heated debate. For my point I thought it best to stick with what we can confirm, and avoid that ol' chestnut.

Now that you broach it, regardless of chuck's true nature Kevin's behavior is typical of extreme stress on a mind. You raise a good point "why does a prophet crack under stress?" My guess: they usually they have arch angels guarding them and have some ability to relieve some stress and in Kevin's case he is stuck in a boat alone facing death. He has no outlet nor comfort. His mind (his human mind) just isn't coping. His supernatural side may be ok but his human side is cracking like fine porcelain.

This is just my speculation.

So, does purgatory only contain vampires and leviathans ? Or is that the only monsters we see due to budget reasons ?

All monsters go to purgatory. Vampires, wendigos, werewolves etc. We just havent encountered much for like you suggest budgetary reasons. In the finale of season 7 we saw some red eyed shadowy beasts encircling dean but those didn't show up again.

We saw either a rugaru or a ghoul in a flashback of Purgatory earlier this season...the monster where Dean interrogates on the whereabouts of Castiel.

Pretty sure it was a rugaru, it looked like it had the same type skin condition and eyes. Also, the things at the end of season seven were called "gorilla-wolves" by Dean.

They got a pretty good fx crew, they really should have had some fun with Purgatory this season. Hell, they could have just done something simple like a Rawhead and I would have been happy.

Yeah, it's one of the least complicated make-up jobs they could have done.

I think we need to see a Wendigo again too...that would've been cool to see as well in Purgatory.

You know something....for a prophet of the Lord who is supposed to be guarded by an arch angel at all times according to Castiel, Kevin sure is in danger alot. I'm going to assume its because the arch angels that we know of are dead.

Well two arch angels are dead , Gabriel and Raphael , and two are trapped in the Cage , Lucifer and Michael. That's why Crowley was able to capture Kevin at the end of Season 7.

And the leviathan also wiped out the angels that had been guarding Kevin in season seven.

I would not be surprised if Crowley at the end was not even real. I doubt The King Of Hell would fix up those windows. Before the guys got there

Could Booger from Revenge of the Nerds be Metaron?

FEELING LUCKY TONIGHT? - When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) receive a distressing video message from Kevin Tran (guest star Osric Chau), they set about trying to uncover the Third Trial. The boys make a discovery that sends them to a casino in Colorado, to find a mysterious recluse (guest star Curtis Armstrong) who may be able to fill in the holes in Kevin's research. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) is on a winning streak. Castiel (Misha Collins) tries to elude Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the angels hunting him. Robert Duncan McNeill directed the episode written by Ben Edlund (#821).

^Yes. First look at Metatron. Looks like he aint a angel anymore.

Don't you just love that he has horded books.:D

I miss death, there's a depressing lack of death this season. He must have found some great new restaurants over in Europe or something.

I miss Death too. He seemed to be the only thing to ever make Dean visibly afraid even after multiple encounters.

It's best they keep his appearances to the barest of minimum, it makes it seem extra special when does show up.

So when Metatron said he was done on that demon tablet, he literally meant he was done, eh? He could've ripped out his grace, although I wouldn't think that would make him immortal that stayed on Earth for thousands of years.
