SUPERNATURAL Season 8! - Part 1

I find it interesting that being possessed by angel burns out the human host, but demons hop around all they want.

Angels generally outclass a demons in the power department. We've only ever seen Alastair and possibly Lilith be strong enough to hold their own, and they're pretty much the most powerful demons aside from Azazel and abadon. Even Crowley has to rely on trickery and spells just to level the playing field. So I'm guessing an angels essence is too much for a human host, while a demons isn't as powerful, hence why they don't need permission like angels do.

It apparently depends on the host and how perfect a fit that host is to his angel. Sam and Dean were so important because they could handle having the two mightiest arch angels possess them. They could even handle them without suffering any lasting damage if Michael is to be believed since he promised Dean that after the fight he'd leave him none the worse for wear.

Other hosts who aren't a good fit end up burning out like Lucifers first host, and I´m guessing that Adam would also have burned out in the end had Michael possessed him long enough.

Angels are more selective of their hosts, the person has be special. Like how Castiel was able to speak to Jimmy a talk him into becoming his vessel without burning out his eyes or blowing his ear drums out.

The archangels are the ones that burn out the bodies, e.g Raphael's vessel being left in a catatonic state. Lucifer wasting Nick away. Lower class angels like Castiel leave the body in perfect condition.

Adam would have been fine as Michael's host, as explained by Cas and Michael. Michael can possess the Winchester bloodline, which Adam is.

Edit- Jinx!

That's only known for archangels(as we found out with Raphael's first vessel shown in season five). While Michael and I think Lucifer both promised that Dean and Sam won't turn out to be husks in the end, they could be lying just so they could get their perfect vessels.

Just ended Season 2 (man, that has to be one of the BEST finale ever or at least among the best! Both parts of All Hell Breaks Lose were terrific! :wow: ) and so I started S3 and just got a reminder how badass demons used to be back then, especially in the 1st episode, The Magnificent Seven , where they made that hunter drink drain cleaner and then they laughed, it was pretty sadistic at least for this show! Sadly, the demons in the latest seasons are nothing but brainless thugs, at least most of them are.

Neither John nor Sam were left as husks after Michael and Lucifer taking over. Lucifer even points out in Swan Song he never lied to the boys, both are trying to do what they believe is good, so they aren't gonna earn permission by lying.

EDIT- But why did Adam say yes? Clearly Sam and Dean earned his trust. THAT is another question

Can we really trust the idea that Michael wouldn't have rotten John out if he stayed inside him any longer or that Sam turned into a complete dried up husk inside the cage before Castiel saved him? Also, Lucifer ****ed up his Plan B vessel, Nick.

And I think Adam just had no choice but to say yes. I wouldn't be shocked if Michael gave him some ultimatum.

Well, hopefully, they don't bring back Michael and Lucifer to close out the show or something like that. Perhaps it could be done right, but it'd probably feel more like a retread than a proper series finale. I do wonder how Carver wants to end the show (presumably in Season 10).

Oh God I HOPE SO! Really, it's harder and harder to go make good stories, they run out of baddies too. I do hope they take a decision from a creative point of view and not from fangirls' point of view who would love this show to go on forever!

I wish God would bring back Gabriel though, in the very end of the series finale, (he was one of the good guys, I mean he brought Cass so many times) which again, I hope it's gonna be Season 10.

I think that Adam probably didn't know enough about angels to realize what they were really like. After all, if your in heaven and an arch angels comes to you and says he needs to borrow your body for a day to go save the world from the devil you'd probably just say yes.

As for Michael and Lucifer coming back... If they were going to bring them back they should have done it to solve the leviathan crisis, it would have been fun to say Dick get owned by those two. But since they didn't do that then I think those two should stay in the cage.

Dude, please! The Leviathans could've been owned by Bobby's ghost! They didn't needed to bring any Archangels for that! Bobby could have hold Dick (after kicking his butt quite good) till the boys cut his head off! It's funny how POWERFUL and THREATNING Leviathans were supposed to be!

More-so, unleashing Michael & Lucifer would have been suicide lol! Michael, Lucy, DICK!! The boys would have been done for then.

Yeah seriously. It would have been like "hey, there's a terrorist in Iraq, lets nuke that entire hemisphere."

It would have been a weapon of last resort. The leviathans were well on their way to enslaving the entire human race and turning it into food animals. Rolling the dice on Michael and Lucifer with the hope that Michael ends up winning the fight with Luci after the leviathans are defeated would make sense. Clearly this is a suicide move for the brothers and would have involved an emotional arc were they come to realize that there is no avoiding destiny and that their own lives are not more important than the fate of the human race.

Unless of course you guy's think that Earth under leviathan rule is better than under Michaels rule ;) Though I´ll admit that Earth under Lucifers rule would be worse since humans would at least be happy little couch potatos under leviathan rule.

Back when I had the theory that Michael and Lucifer were going to be released in season 7 I was expecting Sam's Lucifer hallucination to convince him the only way to stop the Leviathans would be to free them from the Cage.

From what I have seen from Arrow I think John Barrowman would make an awesome villain in Supernatural. He recently answered at a con that he would like to be Supernatural. Misha Collins is even his friend sooo *fingers crossed*

I'd like that. CW does have a history of using stars from other CW programs after their run has ended. John Glover is one I would love to see join Supernatural in some form.

Ben Edlund is leaving to go work on Revolution, it sucks, but Supernatural will do just fine without him. Too bad he never got to do his dinosaur episode.
