So here's the story. Yesterday there was a shooting in the local mall (More about that story here) of my town. It was actually quite scary since the mall is a good 10 minutes from my house, plus my mom works there. My friend was even a witness to the event and appeared on the local news.
So any ways, onto today I get out of class early and decided to stop by McDonald's and get breakfast (I had a free coupon). I get my breakfast and I go out to my car fumbling with my keys when I see a McDonald's employee (who was black) looking at the news stand looking at the headline that the shooter was caught last night. The shooter was a black male. So now here comes this older white lady in about her 50's, she walks right past the black guy looking at the headline and says "Was he a cousin of yours?" and he looked at her offended and said "excuse me?". She then rolled her eyes and said "You all look the same to me." continuing into McDonald's.
Seriously? How arrogant can you be? I thought it was incredibly racist. I'm not even black and I found it some what offensive. Eck, I hope she chokes on her greasy McDonald's breakfasts. Yeah, I had to come on here and vent about it a bit.
