"stuff flying around" was the line he used..

He was asking people in the audience questions about summer blockbusters and he asked a guy in the audience, "Which mutant in X-Men The Last Stand are audiences most excited to see?" The guy said someone, I couldn't make out who, but Letterman said, "No, good guess though...BARRY BONDS"

"Ooh..This movie...I just saw this last night, X-Men The Last Stand...Really creepy...X-Men. Stuff flying around...Anyone watch the X-Men movies? (fair audience ovation)" Then he asks the guy the question..

lol..He's still talking about it as I'm typing...He's talking jibberjabber about mutants now... Trying to explain what a mutant is...It's a pretty good explanation...Letterman-style anyway..

Just watched Rebecca's Letterman appearance...god he's painful to watch...and Paul sounds like he's strung out...she was good though and the interview went well...I'm still upset about that "pathetic meatsack" line from that clip...oh well.

OK, understand something about Letterman. He takes it upon himself to know as little about blockbuster movies as possible, which creates this oddball line of questioning just to make the actors laugh.

He said Jurassic Park was about giant lizards, and every time Drew Barrymore is on he refers to that "movie about the space monkey" she did when she was a kid. When Hugh Jackman was on plugging 'Van Helsing', Dave kept calling the vampire brides "flying monkey bats."

I didn't see the show last night, but what I'm reading sounds like a typical Letterman interview.
