The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Tasm 2 music

This is basically a thread for discussing/speculating about the TASM 2 score

I personally don't want James Horner back. He created a cool theme for Spidey and some of the music for the quieter scenes was nice, but his lack of inspiration for action scenes was disappointing. And especially now that TASM 2 seems to be more action packed, I'd say that they can keep the themes, but they should get a new guy for the score to improve the action department

anyway, that is just my personal opinion and I'm really interested to hear what all of you think. So, let the discussion begin!

However I think they should stick with the main theme and with Spidey's theme when he's swining, even though it wasn't that outstanding. I don't like changing such things.

Of course Electro, Rhino and other characters/scenes can have all new music

The theme from the opening credits, and spidey's main theme were both great IMO. But a new composer could really make it stand out more especially during action scenes.

Michael Giacchino or Hans Zimmer would be good.

Hans Zimmer would without a doubt make great music for a Spider-Man movie, but I still don't want him for the reason that (I admit, this is quite superficial) he also made Batman trilogy score

I don't really know any of Micharl Giacchino's work, what scores has he done and why do you think he'd be the right fellow to write a Spidey-score?

Listen to his scores for the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies. They really are amazing!

He also composed the music for the tv show LOST

Danny Elfman would be my perfect choice but since they probably wont get him back someone like Hans Zimmer would be great

Well,Elfman composed the score for Batman(1989) and he did for the Raimi's films and did an excellent job in both the cases

The main theme was awesome. If anything I thought it was better than the avengers or Nolan batman theme.

agreed, the alley fight had great music.

I kinda dislike the Danny Elfman score. Maybe it's because everytime I hear it I think of Tobey and his crying-face

i liked the TASM theme, when he is swinging and the music plays its great, if i had to voice some odd choice of music it would be choice of song for the scene where peter is skateboarding and realises he can stick to walls and swings on the chains and stuff, it doesn't fit whats going on and feels like the sorta thing you will either like or don't like

Still, I'd really like if the whole music department of this sequel was driven by the score instead of using any licensed songs

Main theme starts around 2:25

The starting part came when Peter's listening to his Uncle's voice mail
I loved that part!

By slow build-up I mean like the quick drumming at the start of Elfman's theme and its somewhat similar in The Avengers theme.
That part does great to build up the momentum especially when the hero is coming in to save the day/fight the Villain.

The TASM theme starts of too thriumphant,like the part when the Lizard is flinging cars over the bridge and Peter arrives,it looked totally out of place when the theme seems one of Victory and the fight hasnt even begun
