from the poster it looks like that they will use now the blue filter.

i made manips to see how it would look. what do you think? i like it. and i think in a way it is nice that they are changing it since they are telling a different story.

Indeed, one of the best changes for this movie.

I think it works much better than the yellow/orange of Begins -- never was too much of a fan of that hue. They have rectified my only, very small, complaint.

    :)

i think the blue is supposed to make the enviorment look cold. like it is evil and cold.
    my opinion.

They are both great. It's good to see they providing some color and style consistency within each bat film, possibly to re-enforce themes, symbols, mood, etc. I wonder if they made any considerations for color filters for the third film (and beyond). If I was going to make a guess, I'd choose green/matrix style

I enjoy far more than the yellow-orange filter.

It honestly, sets a deeper and even darker tone for Gotham in my eyes.

I like the cooler tones, however the trailer seems to show both, so we should see a mix.

in the new joker poster he has teh purple suit while the city is blue.
do oyu think they will seperate the colors so that the joker will stand out in hes purple?

and dont expect the right colors in the trailers because this is the final step when they finish the movie.

I doubt the look of the film is going to as saturated as the poster sheets, so no, I don't think so. His suit is already highly saturated with color.

Yes but they won't change the color. Especially when it looks just like the first film.

i actually think in the trailer there appears to be no focus on a particular color. it looks very clear and vivid in all colors.

Well, the colour scheme of the Begins posters matched that of the film, so I assume this will be the same here.

Well. They didn't really use filters as much as you may think on Batman Begins. That's all lighting. Wally Pfister & Christopher Nolan = Great visual. This is going to look as awesome as every other film they did.

The one thing I couldn't stand about Begins was the rusty brown Gotham city. This new cold blue Gotham is quite sexy!

  19. Well when I first read that they were changing the hue to blue I thought 'Yeah and ....', but after seeing the manips at the beginning of the thread I must admit to be blown away by the blue (compared to the original photos) and does anybody else feel that it seems to connect with it's comic style roots more too ?
The Blue certainly does make Gotham look more chilling and cold, but also it seems to add to the Batman - cannot quite put my finger on why, maybe it just reminds me of the classic blue tones from the Batman comics of the 70's (the O'Neal years) and that cannot be a bad thing, afterall thats were my love of all things batlike started, lol.

It just says something about the modern age of film making and the digital editing technology that goes hand in hand with it, we are now seeing such deeper and more powerful 'imaginings' (is that a word?) than ever before.

Wally Pfister really seems to have outdone himself on the cinematography this time around (though he always does a remarkable job). It is amazing to watch the full trailer and see scenes that I watched being filmed but now have been color corrected and finished. Great stuff...

I think Wally will get another Oscar nod for this :) simply an amazing atmosphere to the thing.

I agree with you Robin. I can only hope that this film and Nolan will finally get the Oscar love that they all deserve. I mean, it's early, but come on... this small footage alone is breathtaking and we've seen nothing!!

I hope it will, I really do, the marketing is better than last time imo, and just from what I've read/seen it just looks and sounds better. C'mon Academy!
