It's unbelievable but true.

TDKR will cost $250million :wow:
that's $100million more then inception!

It's i think because there will be more use of iMax camera's
and the location....and ofcourse the cast.

What can you say?

It's expensive shooting in IMAX .

Source? If true, then we should really be in for a huge treat :D

this is rather 'old' news and has been analyzed to death

Doesn't mean Nolan will actually spend that much.

thats more than what should be spent on movies. plus, i think having restrictions forces greater creativity.

I think its more like WB telling Nolan that this is the limit... Not that he intends to spend that much... just that its all WB are willing to rise to.

Nolan always come in under budget and schedule anyway. He's not about to waste money or CGI anyway.

DANG thats almost 100 million more than TDK Nolan must be going all out on this

It must have to do with IMAX. No way does Bane use that much CGI.

Hopefully this means IMAX cameras and a lot of on location shooting

The last one made a billion dollars, so it´s not a problem.

Maybe he´s shooting two parts at a time. Just like the last Harry Potter installment.
The only thing TDK can be blamed for is that the story was too rushed so perhaps Nolan is fixing that this time.

I'm not at all surprised, and considering the ample and growing success Nolan has enjoyed, both within franchise and beyond, it makes perfect sense.

Realistically, WB made much more profit from TDK than they expected. So they can easily write-off additional expenses for TDKR through that profit-margin without needing TDKR to do as well financially.

To studios, money is a means to make more money. These companies will spend millions of dollars on a 30 second shot in a film if they think it'll translate to more money overall in box office, merchandising, and video sales.

$250 million to us is mega-bucks, and to a studio it's a significant investment. But it's not unwarranted.

Now the day you've got a film with a $400-500 million price-tag? That'll be shocking even to me. Then, said film would require a billion-dollar box-office pay-day to simply make what Hollywood considers "basic" success -- double investment profit returns.

They will make that money back in two days of it's release :cwink:

I'm betting they'll end up around 300 mill... hack, make it 400! it'll earn it back! EASILY!

Don't get too cocky... I don't quite think we have another billion dollar movie on our hands here.
