Okay, I got the VGA cable for the XBOX 360, but there is no sound when I connected the 360 to my Computer monitor. how do i get sound?

My computer is the Dell, same goes with the Monitor

Well, most computer monitors don't have built in speakers, so where are you plugging the red and white cables?

well i have speakers for the computer, the one wire that goes to the back of the computer.

Right, but what do you have the red and the white cables coming from the VGA cable plugged into? Those two plugs have to be going into either a TV or a receiver or something. Those are what's carrying the audio from the 360.

that's the VGA cable that I have for the 360. Ya, but if i want to hook up my 360 to my Computer moniter, I need a way to get audio since I can't hook up the red and white cable to the back of my computer.

Any suggestions?

I don't think it's possible man. Those red and white cables carry the audio signal from the 360 itself. If you aren't plugging those into anything, there is no way to get audio I'm afraid. Sorry. :(

And unless you're a miracle worker, you're full of ****. The audio portion of that cable has to be sent to an amplifier of some nature and then to a set of speakers to produce sound. You can't pull audio out of thin air. Your computer speakers don't have the proper connection to do this.

dude, there are many people that use their 360 with their Computer Monitors, and those don't have built in speakers. Obviously there is a way. I just don't know what

It's like I told you, they run those wires to an outside audio source like an AV receiver.

how about if i get an adapter, like a minijack adapter to plug to the computer. so, that the sound that it inputed from the 360 to the computer is outputed from the computer to the speakers.

Your soundcard works as an out, not as an input or passthrough, so that wouldn't work. I've been racking my brain to think of some sort of RCA to 3.5mm adapter that would work, but I don't think it will. What you need is a dual female RCA to female 3.5mm adapter, and the only adapters they make that I know of even close are dual female RCA to male 3.5mm adapters. I guess you could get one of those and then a 3.5mm coupler and plug the computer speakers into that, but I doubt it would work and even if it does, it will probably sound like ****.

Have you tried plugging in one of those cables into your speakers.

there is no input on the speakers. The two speakers is connected to a wire, and there is another wire that comes out of one of the speakers into the back of the computer.

wat do you mean, there is no wild and crazy set up here. If you want the 360 to play on your Computer Monitor, and the sounds comes out of external speakers, what do you do? It's not complicated people. I have the VGA cable with the red and white wire, but I can't plug the red and white wire on the back of the speakers............... i mean who here does that?

Well you know what, you're asking for help, and you're giving off way too much attitude about it. How about you figure it out your own damn self if it's "not that complicated".

Seriously, guitarsingerguy was trying to help you out and all you did was give him a **** load of unnecessary attitude.

Two minutes on google gave me this:

According to this customr review, there's another set of cables this product comes with?

http://www.amazon.com/review/R2N9Y4U0GG769W/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm/

"Also, as far as sound is concerned, if you're hooking this up to your computer system: the cable comes with a Y adapter that can be plugged into your standard audio card (the green, blue, and pink colored slots in the back). I have awesome speakers on my comp (not Dolby surround but a 200-watt 2.1 system) and had to look everywhere on the internet to see if this cable would be able to connect to them. I finally found it somewhere. In short, yes you can hook the audio adapter into your computer for sound (your computer has to be on to do so). My comp speakers plug into the green slot then the VGA cable (via the adapter) plugs into the blue one. Bingo, seat-rattling explosions and gunfire."

i actually tried that before, it didn't work.

- I attached the red and white wires to this adapter

- I attached the VGA cable from the 360 to the COmputer monitor.

- I left the speaker connections as is on the back of the computer.

I wonder if i have to do some settings on either the 360 or the computer?
