xbox 360 video problem

im having a serious problem with my xbox 360...1 outta 3 times my xbox 360 during gameplay cuts to different colors flashing but i can still hear the audio from the game...I promised my cousin id bring my xbox 360 to michigan in a week...but if this problem occurs...im screwed....anyone know wha the problem is? overheating? something i need to fix?
if i cant get it done in a week...is there a place where i can rent an xbox 360 for 3 days or a week or so...if so whats the ballpark price of such a thing?
i have so many questions lol

your cables are probably not connected in properly in the back.

i checked that...then called 1800 4myxbox
i did everything it said and it still didnt work so i sent it in...its supposed to come back today...id really like that cuz i miss my xbox

yeah $100 since i didnt have a warranty...but for the $100 i get a 1 year warranty and a month free on xbox live so i guess its ok...
it works perfect now...so its worth it
