Did anyone here see this version of it? If so, how was it?
I'm not judging anyone 'cause I love such films as well, but I think it's weird that a horrible monster-person can savagely kill innocent, cute girls in the prime of their lives, causing shock waves of unspeakable grief, and then people make a movie out of it and we watch it for "entertainment".
It's warped.

Great film, totally captures the man in all his glory.
I strongly urge you to watch.

Wow, I guess you didn't really bother reading what I said.
I am a bigger fan of more warped, wicked, disturbing, transgressive, banned - style movies than most anyone here I'd wager.
I just meant, conceptually, it is strange and fascinating to me, that everyone hears about the horrible murder in RL, goes, "Tsk, OMG, that's so horrible!"
and then, "Hey, whadd're ya doin' Saturday Night?!? Wanna watch Silence of the Lambs?"
I'm just saying it's weird, that we derive entertainment from watching how ****ed up things can get, from witnessing the very things we hope and pray will never happen.
Just saying it's a bizarre aspect of Humanity.
I'm against banning anything except things that directly feature real life crime, like Snuff films or Child Pornography.
And also, I think that's a huge stretch "Horror films are "educational".
Whatever, not the ones I like (Dawn of the Dead, The Exorcist, Bloodsucking Freaks, The Thing, etc.)
Well, I, guess I did learn, if corpses ever DO start walking around eating people..."aIM FOR THE hEAD. sH00T IT IN DA head, MAN!"
Well, yes, people get cut, bleed, get burned alive, hung, shot, etc. everyday.I bothered to read what you said I just meant that aspects of every horror film occur everyday and life can be scary so it is just showcasing the scary side of life.

I was talking about the Werewolves, Zombies, Vampires, kind of Horror.
This was really about Serial Killer movies, which is one kind of Horror, but not all Horror is "educational".
And the reason I call it a stretch is, even if they do open people's eyes, that ISN'T why people like to watch them.
They don't say, "Hmmm, I'd like to better myself, by learning more about the dark side of pain from which I'm usually insulated."
Or they'd watch documentaries on starving Ethiopean babies, or on Idi Amin, etc.
They "get off" on the lurid nature of watching the grisly scary stuff. There's also the thrill/rush of feeling the sensation of fear, but, while completely safe, with no real life consequences.
But, I don't love horrible, disturbing, gruesome, scary, depressing Horror movies because I'm "learning" when I watch them.
I mean, I guess you'd call pornography "educational" as well.
Debbie Does Dallas should be in the "Educational" section at Blockbuster, right?
