Did anyone here see this version of it? If so, how was it?

Great film, totally captures the man in all his glory.
I strongly urge you to watch.

The need to do a new one and cast Steve Carell as Ted Bundy. Yes I am serious.

I'm not judging anyone 'cause I love such films as well, but I think it's weird that a horrible monster-person can savagely kill innocent, cute girls in the prime of their lives, causing shock waves of unspeakable grief, and then people make a movie out of it and we watch it for "entertainment".
It's warped.

It's warped.

Yup, but the world is a warped place.

My favorite is from 1986 the TV movie The Deliberate Stranger with Mark Harmon, I remember another made for TV movie starring Bill Campbell from The Rocketeer as Bundy.

Msot recent films based on serial killers have been crap, this film is pretty good tho.

Pisses me of 'cause Ed Gein is one of my favorites and I hate all the Ed Gein movies.
I feel like I could make the real Ed Gein movie, but now there are 50 of 'em...plus I know I'll never get it together. :csad:
It could be the best, creepiest, most moving killer film ever, and they always go the wrong directions with 'em. :cmad:

Like, I could not BELIEVE it!
I was reading an interview with the guy who did "Deranged", and he said, "Yeah, we HAD to go for the more quirky, humrous side, 'cause the real story is just too...disturbing for audiences."

W.T.F*** ?!?

God. :whatever:

They don't even bother getting a guy of his body type.
That's a huge part of it.

It's warped.

So what should we do? Ban it from theaters? I love horror movies because it shows how ****ed up the world can be it is actually educational in a way.

Wow, I guess you didn't really bother reading what I said.
I am a bigger fan of more warped, wicked, disturbing, transgressive, banned - style movies than most anyone here I'd wager.

I just meant, conceptually, it is strange and fascinating to me, that everyone hears about the horrible murder in RL, goes, "Tsk, OMG, that's so horrible!"
and then, "Hey, whadd're ya doin' Saturday Night?!? Wanna watch Silence of the Lambs?"

I'm just saying it's weird, that we derive entertainment from watching how ****ed up things can get, from witnessing the very things we hope and pray will never happen.

Just saying it's a bizarre aspect of Humanity.
I'm against banning anything except things that directly feature real life crime, like Snuff films or Child Pornography.

And also, I think that's a huge stretch :o "Horror films are "educational".

Whatever, not the ones I like (Dawn of the Dead, The Exorcist, Bloodsucking Freaks, The Thing, etc.)

Well, I, guess I did learn, if corpses ever DO start walking around eating people..."aIM FOR THE hEAD. sH00T IT IN DA head, MAN!"

I bothered to read what you said I just meant that aspects of every horror film occur everyday and life can be scary so it is just showcasing the scary side of life. And I don't think it is a huge stretch to say that. Your telling me without this horror movies that society would be so aware of such things? That is all I am saying. All films are educational in some form that is part of the reason I love watching movies. I guess we just have different perceptions on film.

Well, yes, people get cut, bleed, get burned alive, hung, shot, etc. everyday.

I was talking about the Werewolves, Zombies, Vampires, kind of Horror.
This was really about Serial Killer movies, which is one kind of Horror, but not all Horror is "educational".

And the reason I call it a stretch is, even if they do open people's eyes, that ISN'T why people like to watch them.

They don't say, "Hmmm, I'd like to better myself, by learning more about the dark side of pain from which I'm usually insulated."
Or they'd watch documentaries on starving Ethiopean babies, or on Idi Amin, etc.

They "get off" on the lurid nature of watching the grisly scary stuff. There's also the thrill/rush of feeling the sensation of fear, but, while completely safe, with no real life consequences.
But, I don't love horrible, disturbing, gruesome, scary, depressing Horror movies because I'm "learning" when I watch them.

I mean, I guess you'd call pornography "educational" as well.
Debbie Does Dallas should be in the "Educational" section at Blockbuster, right?

Lol...calm down. I know there are many people out there that "get off" from horror movies and no other reason I was just stating how I think I view them for the most part. I am not trying to tell you how everyone else or you watches them. And yes I would call porn educational it has taught me plenty of different ways to have sex with a girl. :o But no I know it is mainly used for sexual gratification if I am not mistaken...lol. But whatever I was just stating my own stance that is all but oh well keep putting me down if it makes you feel better I still love you anyway.

I am calm and I'm not insulting you.
Like, "Well I guess you didn't bother to read what I said." may sound arguey, but it's not.
It was because of how you said "Well what should we do, ban them?"
Which indicates that you missed the meaning of the "I'm not judging anyone because I love Serial Killer films".
And you don't know me, but I have to react because I'm SO anti-banning almost anything.
I don't even think messageboards should have mods.

Just saying it's a weird thing about humans, and in the cosmic perspective, it is warped that we would make "fun" out of watching people get killed.....a warped fun I've been enjoying for decades.

Well I didn't mean that as a jab at you sorry if that was what it sounded like. That is the bad thing about a typed conversation. People read things and can interpret the meaning in the wrong way.

Well it's charming to see such sensibility, open communication and politeness now in the Ted Bundy thread.

Yep. Now I am off to watch porn and The Illusionist. Peace out.

I don't want to sound like a perv but were there any sexual bondage/handcuff scenes in it?

I think he tied girls up while he raped and killed them in his cabin in the movie, but it's been a while since I've seen it...

on a side note, ted bundy=coolest serial killer ever...the mother f**ker actually escaped, in broad daylight, and if he could have just not killed more people, or left the country, I doubt they ever would have found him...
