Tekken 6

People are suggesting he's the new mokujin. Maybe more of an Ogre. Has lots of characters moves and then a few of his own.

That Bob guy looks way too much like a Comic-Con type. Kudos to Namco for getting the look down, right down to the scruffy facial hair.

I wish this game had a Create a Character. I don't even care if it was just copying movesets like in Soul Calibur IV. I'd ****ing love one of this kung fu fighting style games to have a full on create a character and since I love Tekken's characters most, I'd prefer it to be them.

My brother played Tekken 6 at the arcade the other day, and get this: it was FRICKIN' 3 BUCKS A PLAY! Not only that, but the arcade actually had an external bill validator hooked up to the machine since it was only designed to take coins! :wow:

I wanted to go head to head against him, but I knew it wouldn't be worth it since I'd lose, and then be $3 poorer for about 1.5 minutes of an arcade game (or less, because my brother beats me 8/10 times that I play him). The game sure was gorgeous when it was running though...

and thats one of the reasons why Arcades are no longer big in the US

Actually, I think part of why my arcade in particular has seen better days is because instead of actually maintaining the controls in all the machines, they just set the price at 1 token whenever something breaks. Are you PO'd that the player one guard button in Soul Calibur 2 is broken? Well you probably won't be enough to complain, since you only payed 1 token for it (which is about the equivelent to 15 cents). 90% of the machines there either have broken controls or eat change, so on the rare occasion that they do have a game that works perfectly, they'll set the price at 2 or 3 tokens (or higher if it's a fancy gimmick machine, but for unfortunately Tekken 6 is still the most expensive game there).

I think the only fighting game there that I've had no control problems with at all was Mortal Kombat 4-- and unfortunately, the game kind of sucks so I don't really play it much at all (I almost wish they'd convert it into an Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 machine, but another part of me says that that'd be sacrelige, even if MK4 sucks). The poor state of the arcade's machines is probably an indicator that people aren't coming there often enough to keep them maintained though, so the sad truth is probably that arcades are caught in a vicious downward spiral. The less people come, the less money there is to buy new machines and fix the old ones. And the worse the old machines get and the fewer new games they have, the less likely people are to visit. :(

"Tekken 6" was just officially announced as coming to XBOX 360 day-and-date with the PS3 version at the MS TGS conference happening right now.

Im not surprised. Fighting games arent big enough anymore to justify being released on only one platform

Awww... Not to say it's all that big a loss though. Wonder if the voleyball fighter will do thesame.

Is that bright ass green controller ever coming to the states or is still limited? I havent it (d-pad) on too many games that actually need it, but with all these fighting games coming out in the next few months, Mr. Credible is right. These games'll blow with the current one. Trying to play Street Fighter II with it is miserable, and using the thumb stick just feels wrong.

Real men use arcade sticks. Preferably a customized one.

But if that's not availible, stick with a Playstation controller. The 360's D-pad is cringeworthy.

Yea thats the only thing the PS3's controller has going for it, its great for fighting games but damn near sucks for just about everything else. When i was playing through Uncharted and MGS4 i was praying that i could use my 360 controller for my PS3...my prayers were never answered.

Thats funny. I could play both games with ease.

As could I, but still wish i could use the 360 controller for em. Its one of the main reasons as to why i purchase my multiplat games for the 360.

Namco Bandai saved Tekken 6 news as their presentation finale. After a Tekken 6 trailer flashed Katsuhiro Harada, Executive Producer, took the stage and said a few works. Three of which were “console specific content.”

We know the PSP version will have levels and character customization items not found in the console versions. However, no details were provided about what special things will only be in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tekken 6. Characters? Tekken Bowl? Flying pigs*? Your guess is as good as mine.

*One stage really lets players kick pigs at their opponents. Soaring swine don’t do any direct damage, but they can distract your opponent

Cardboard Tube Samurai Coming to Tekken 6?
By Owen Good, 12:00 PM on Sat Jun 20 2009

How could this be anyone else? Tekkenbob, the official Twitter account for Tekken 6, uploaded this yesterday afternoon, and it looks like Gabe and Tycho are designing a costume for the game.

I suppose the backlit dual-wield weaponry could be argued to be anything - but the Pac Man logo on the gi means it's definitely Cardboard Tube Samurai. Note also the white socks and mandals.

Paustini, a cohost over at Gamertag radio, noticed it too and posits that we should expect to hear more at this year's PAX.
It seems some of website founders Gabe and Tycho's comic genius has made it into Namco's yearly Iron Fist Tournament. Namely, the upcoming Tekken 6, which is heading to Xbox 360 and PS3 this Fall.

If I were you, I'd expect a neat little announcement at this year's Penny Arcade Expo.
