1) What's the first comic you bought on a monthly basis? Do you remember the first issue that got you hooked? ASM 529, I read comics before that but only in trades, first issue that got me hooked on monthlies though was moon-knight #1 of the current volume.

2) Who's your favorite singer/group? Bob Dylan

3) Last cool thing you bought that you would like to brag about? Tanglewood tomkat electric guitar, £400 down to £250, finally my negotiation skills from my job come in handy

4) Name something you bought that you'd be embarrassed to admit to owning? Chesney Hawkes: The one and only...I was only a kid when this came out I take no responsibilty for my actions

5) What comic do you consider the "biggest steal" you've ever bought? X-factor (current series) 1-5 for 99p off e-bay

6) Skip if it's too serious, but what's one of the crappiest days of your life?
I got hit by a black cab while walking across the road. Got chucked thirty yards down the road, damaged my spine, tried to stand up and the vertebrae shattered, also shattered my elbow, cracked two ribs, punctured my lung and tore my liver. I now have rods attatched to my spine and pins in my elbow. Ironically though I'm now more flexible and stronger pound for pound than I was before the accident...I should have my own comic

7) What's one of the best days? When my business finally took. I ran promoted and DJ'd my own mdachester club nights while I was at uni. There is no feeling in the world like the one you get when you cue up a track and suddenly the room goes balistic. By the time I put that business to bed I was spending £50 a week and pulling in £250. Not massive ammounts of cash but not bad for something I did part time while I was at uni

8) What's your favorite Non-Marvel comic? Midnight Nation

9) Have you ever met anyone from The Hype? No

10) What's your biggest "pet peeve" on the Hype? When it slows down so much the pages fails to load and I get that bloody, page cannot be found thing...grrrrr!

1) What's the first comic you bought on a monthly basis? Do you remember the first issue that got you hooked? Incredible Hulk. I've since lost all those old comics (my mom gave them away when I went off to university) but it was an issue where the Hulk started off in china fighting the Red Army, then unwittingly destroyed the chinese nuke on its way to the states before crash landing in the savage land where he reverted to Banner and was saved from certain death by Ka-Zar

2) Who's your favorite singer/group? Metallica

3) Last cool thing you bought that you would like to brag about? A piece of the original parque floor from the old boston garden autographed by Bill Walton

4) Name something you bought that you'd be embarrassed to admit to owning? I once bought a Puff Daddy record when in high school

5) What comic do you consider the "biggest steal" you've ever bought? Galactus vs Darkseid for the equivalent of 50 cents from a news stand in Egypt

I don't have a whole lot of back issues of anything so I'm not sure what the answer is.....maybe any issue of Current Daredevil as they're priced the same as the other Marvel books but far surpass the latter in quality

My sister died


7) What's one of the best days?

Two actually....the birth of my daughter then the birth of my son

Hmmm that's tough.....probably "Detective"

People who whine and ***** about others who whine or *****.....I can respect people's views no matter how polarized they are to my own....but don't ever tell me how I should react to what I deem is less than quality mags.....

I do not really remeber which one it was but I do remember having the giant size Hulk (the one on the cover where you see banner becoming the Hulk in all its stages) which had the first 6 issues of Hulk comics in it. Then again I also remember having the Superman vs. Mohommad Ali comic as well.

2) Who's your favorite singer/group?

I have eclectic tastes but I do enjoy the White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, the Who, Beatles, Elvis, Orson, and many others. I also enjoy classical composers sometimes like Mozart, Betthoven, Vivaldi and Bach.

3) Last cool thing you bought that you would like to brag about?

I don't think there is anything I purchased I would like to brag about given I have no item which is very rare. I did buy a painting recently of a tiger hunting whcih I am proud of.

4) Name something you bought that you'd be embarrassed to admit to owning?

It depends to who, to this forum, not much or at least nothing that comes into mind right now.

5) What comic do you consider the "biggest steal" you've ever bought?

Well when I had bought the original secret wars 1&2 for les then $20, I thought that was a steal until my stepmother gave them all away to her nephew when i moved away instead of sending them to me. Currently, I don't own any comics which I consider to be a financial investment.

6) Skip if it's too serious, but what's one of the crappiest days of your life?

Well lets just say it involved a girl and me, and a mistake I made

7) What's one of the best days?

A day that has not yet happenned I hope, but so far a day I had in Jamaica which included beating Jackie Stewart in golf and having sex on a beach with a very attractive lady rates high among them.

I do not have many or should I say any but I do remember reading Asterix comics.

Yes I have

For me, I've only been buying monthly for the last year or so, so I am still a newbie. I remember reading the Decalogue arc in DD, thats what got me hooked. Then Ultimates came to me, and Runaways and boom I just started buying a bunch of back issues then started a pull list then my wallet died.

2) Who's your favorite singer/group?

Showbread, really awesome band. Raw Rock Kills.


3) Last cool thing you bought that you would like to brag about?

Nothing comes to mind, saving the money.

Lets see, I have a few chick flick dvds but nothing worse than that.

I got Ms. Marvel #1 and Spider-Woman #1 both for just 6 bucks. And I found the Archie Meets Punisher one shot for a buck.

Any exam/final day is pretty bad.

That three disc Criterion Collection of Brazil is awesome. I bought it when it came out, and I've look for Criterion Collection dvds ever since. They really do the best job of putting out dvds with the stuff you really want to hear and see.

1) What's the first comic you bought on a monthly basis? Do you remember the first issue that got you hooked?
I don't recall the exact issue, but it was definately Amazing Spider-Man. As a kid my mother used to subscribe to a half dozen titles, and that (along with Web, Fan Four, Hulk, and Thor) was the one that caught my interest. Spider-Man became a favorite hero of mine rather early in life; by the time I was 5, I was probably a fan, helped no doubt from SPIDER-FRIENDS reruns on NBC before Smurfs. Ironically, I haven't read the title regularly in some 14 or so years and am only back for CW.

I know the issue was probably a McFarlane one, though, or one with a Black Costume Spider-Man on the cover. No help, I know. But when I was a young'un, both Hulk and Spidey had "alternate" looks. Originally their "original" colors were jarring. When I was in first grade it was almost surprising that Hulk was really "green".

2) Who's your favorite singer/group?
Really don't have one. I stink at remembering bands with song titles and usually just listen to stuff on my friends' computer playlists. They're usually rock/metal songs though. Not always from the U.S.

3) Last cool thing you bought that you would like to brag about?
Haven't bought anything that cool in a while. I'm a broke college student. But it may just be my last studded leather jacket, for $80, a steal.

4) Name something you bought that you'd be embarrassed to admit to owning?
A DIC SAILOR MOON TV series soundtrack, on audio-cassette no less. I bought it in High School for this girl I was trying to impress, but that boat sailed before I could pawn it off on her and I'm stuck with the thing. It rests in the bottom of a drawer somewhere. The horror...

5) What comic do you consider the "biggest steal" you've ever bought?
Bought? Probably the alternate cover to ASTONISHING X-MEN #4.

6) Skip if it's too serious, but what's one of the crappiest days of your life?
Too many to list, from Junior High to this year. I'm a happy guy. Can you tell? In real life I usually rely on snappy banter, though, like Spider-Man, to hide the pain.

7) What's one of the best days?
Haven't had one that is really worth calling a "best day", beyond a day where I simply enjoyed some comic/movie/TV show I watched or read.

8) What's your favorite Non-Marvel comic?
WATCHMEN. I know it's cheating. Right now, probably Dini's DETECTIVE, or 52.

9) Have you ever met anyone from The Hype?
Yes. Dew K. Mosi and Elijyah. WOLVERINE25TH and I had a sorta-miss at our LCS.

10) What's your biggest "pet peeve" on the Hype?
Basically some of the same peeves about message boards in general; some of the posters are either idiots, annoying, or both. However, Hype is one of the better ones I have been on and has less of the aforementioned that I've said. Especially on the pure-comic boards like this one. I usually avoid movie boards or community though.

Oh, and the 20,000 character limit always bites me in the rear on big weeks.

This is a first. Let me see if I get this right...Your mom subscribed to comics??? If I've got this correctly, you have one heck of a cool mom. That's as good as finding a gal who likes to watch Pro football....but, a hell of a lot more rare.
