Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

I have very little motivation to make it out to the theater to watch this and I'm a huge Terminator fan. I guess I'm tired of being burned by these movies and from what I've read on Dark Fate is discouraging. Will probably wait for digital at this point.

It really is a streaming service watch. I watched it on my tablet while laying in bed

Pretty much how I feel too, tbh.

What I would do & if they did not want (Blank) around & no (Blank existing & lets be honest this was explained in the trailers) ? Continue from TSCC from a story stand point. Skynet sends another T800 back & (Blank) is off the grid & no where to be found (Blank) (is in the future & no longer in the past) the future does change (as hinted in the series finale) & (Blank) no longer gets created & exists. Sarah & Grace are not needed at all & Dark Fate focuses on Carl a Robot with no orders to follow because (Blank) no longer happens. Legion sends back the Rev 9 to kill Dani & Carl sees & helps Dani & its a movie about Carl & Dani with no Grace or Sarah. This would not be a bad thing would it ?

Random thought here, but I really liked the final confrontation, because I like it when the Terminators are starting to get damaged and you get that raw, horrific look on them which is something I always miss when watching these things. Probably one of the reasons why T2 is still my favorite, you get that T-1000 nightmarish looks whenever he gets shot with something big. They really could've done more with the Rev-9, easily the best Terminator villain since T2 (that also makes a bit more sense than the completely liquid metal).

Arnold in the original is full-blown horror movie villain by the time he gets in the semi.

I recently rewatched the first two movies (the only ones I rewatch), and am I reading too much into it or, at least in some scenes, is Arnold made up to look slightly weird?

I don't mean obvious parts like where it's the model head in place of Arnold where he's removing the damaged eyeball, but sometimes he looks pale/gray or something. Idk if it's subtle makeup or what, but combined with his blank expression, there's times in the first movie where he looks subtly inhuman even before it gets more obvious.

And he doesn't look like that in the second movie (where he's softened as the "good guy" Terminator).

Or am I overanalyzing and seeing stuff that isn't there?

Remember he gets burned a bit in the first one, so his hair is different midway through the movie and he has no eye brows, which makes it look even weirder. That's probably it.

Having rewatched the first film recently, it's something I noticed too. When he's in the police cruiser searching for Sarah and Kyle he looks so strange. I would imagine it's intentional since the scene directly follows Kyle explaining Arnold is a robot.

This is a feeling that is not dissimilar from what a lot of people who stayed home felt. This movie was always going to be a tough sell after three sequels that left a bad taste in audiences mouth. It’s a shame but in many ways this movie’s failure was in a way....fate.

A dark fate.

Yes, I know I’m like the millionth guy on the net to make that goofy pun, and it’s already getting older than Kirk Douglas at this point but I just couldn’t resist it. :funny:

My apologies if I got anyone’s eyes to roll. I’m so cheesy, lol.

I think the T-800's flesh starts to rot as well because the motel manager goes to Arnold's room and ask something like do you have a dead animal in there.

He begins to look "weird" right after the car explosion when Kyle and Sarah are "rabbiting" from Tech Noir. His hair is burned and look shorter, eyebrows are gone. Cameron makes Arnold more and more pale as the film progresses and damaged skin begins to decay.

God, I love T1. Excellence.

I did notice he had no eyebrows, but now I feel dumb for not putting it together that it’s only after he gets burned.

There’s also flies buzzing around him. You hear them both in that scene and when he’s on the phone impersonating Sarah’s Mother.

Have any sequels to this been announced? I remember there were to Genisys before they had to quietly back-paddle.

No sequels have officially been announced but James Cameron has prematurely talked about the direction the sequels would go in before the movie came out. Unless you’re a big IP like Star Wars or Marvel its always a bad idea to talk about plans for sequels before the box office of your movie can tell you whether you will be able to make them or not.
